could still be headgasket.
could also be the waterpump, crack in block (hope not lol) radiator, heater matrix, hose, etc etc.
as for the oil use, the list is as long as your arm on that one.
if your worried about a failed headgasket i'd suggest getting a sniff test done, give you a answer either way.
nope correct oil if the rave manual is to be believed. atf dextron IID it may have not gotten worse due to the oil change but just be coincidental. also the magnetic plug had tons of swarf on it,..... but the rest of the gearbox feels ok, so here's hoping....
how easy is it to change the syncro hubs on a mpi gearbox? ive got a nasty crunch into second (double declutching stops it) and its getting on my tits. annoyingly, its gotten worse since i did the gearbox oil
i would suggest you have one of 3 issues.
1 master cyl seals have failed allowing fluid to leak past.
2 a hole in a line. this wont be hard to find
3 a failed piston seal on a caliper.
in that order.
i didnt in the end. there are two circuits on the alternator that is fitted that are live only when engine running. one is warning light the other had nothing connected. i came off that. works fine.
disco 1 again.
where can i pick up a live feed that is live ONLY when the engine is running? i want to have a SPDT switch on my split charging system, pos 1, normal (only activates relay when engine running) pos 2 perm live, so can use my split charge batt as a booster batt if my main bat for any reason goes flat and pos3 off, completely isolates the 2nd batt.
any ideas?
