  1. agree but I was impressed with the motor. A good all round car.
  2. Our G4 V6 is truely been awesome. bar better on fuel than my V8 90 with alll and i mean all the creature comform. cruse control. parking sensors goes well, sounds great. forsale if your interested 14k on clock, full G4, left hand drive, but has never been a problem for me driving it around
  3. within budget if your quick http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=22&id=130058&Itemid=81#130818
  4. http://www.megasquirt-v8.co.uk/index.php should leave you enough money to buy a V8 too
  5. TD front axel. Then get the standard crown wheel pegged. should help nicely. I run the GKN / Maxi drive shafts and cv's like you 10 spline. i keep blowing ring and pinions. So i'll be checking / replacing diff causing and get my next one pegged. I'm on a budget so dont think i'll get hd ring a pinions.... we'll see..
  6. or ring ashcrofts and get them to make you a hp22 with hp24 internals using the kickdown cable again not cheap but keeps things simple
  7. HP 24 is a much stronger box, but you'd need something like compushift.. so will work out expensive
  8. I like that i like the filler yep LPG. i reckon i'll get a 360mm x 578mm cyclider type tank took under the back againts the inside of the rear cross member which will be around 50l. which i'd agree isnt huge, or with your idea i could put the td5 year tank in and remove the drivers tank and fit a under slug type tank in there which may allow me to use a bigger tank.
  9. Hello, Not had chance to get out the ruler and measure what available room there is / isnt under a 90 floor. I want to install a gas tank into the 90 and do not want to lose and interior space. Has anyone else done this? If so what size tank did you use? I'm thinking a round 600 x 200 round tank? about 45 - 60l, I have an 1inch body lift on the 90 which MIGHT give me some better clearence, i know i need to be careful of the A frame hitting the tank. any pics / infomation out there please? Al
  10. i'm sure the td5 90 rear tank is the same. and the filler is drivers side rear. I'll take a look over the weekend as i have a rrc and td5 90 tank
  11. I could be wrong here and sorry if i am but my brain is telling me that didnt the later RRC have plastic tanks? and if not..... what about the 110 / 90 td5 tanks? there under the rear and the V8 later type V8 pump/ level screw top units will fit in,
  12. without sounding rude, But most of what you have highlighted there makes little or no difference. both my cars run perfectly. idle perfectly and ones manual and one is auto. engine braking is as you can imagine slightly better in the manual. Mine is a very clean install. done around 25 thosand miles with no problems at all. Maybe and likely if you have had trouble in the past then maybe there was a undelining issue that cause you so much grief and is maybe whey it has made you with the mind set you have. But there is aleast two of us here that have not had the trouble you seem to highlight. I'm about to do my 3rd , 4.2l auto in a 90. i'll be sure to left you know how that goes
  13. bfgoodrich At's work very well on the DII and you know their characteristics and also you know they last.
  14. Oh the wiring diagram above all be it true does make it look awful scary. Its not.
  15. I have done two efi hotwire installs into my landrovers and its so simple. al the wiring for the engine side took about 1 hour. the longest bit of time for me was choosing where to mount and mounting the ecu and the two relays. its all plug and play. off the top of my head, Constanst 12 v, ignition 12 volts, Wire to high pressure fuel pump, earths. think thats about it that i had to join up. I choose a hotwire system without lamba sensors. touch wood never had a problem in 3 years and have been in some mighty pounds in the challenge tuck. My 90 used to be a carbed V8, so i thought the same as you to start with keep it simple. but its not that simple when it comes to balancing carbs and the likes. fit the Hot wire off it goes. if you have a problem loads of spares and its a very simple loom to trace wires. just my experience AL
  16. I run 34" simex, 3.9 auto with a rrc transerbox, in a 90 but from a rrc. i have 4.3.2 diffs, my speedo is out by 2mph and its drive's effortless. With the bigger tyres etc, i have tighterned up the kickdown cable alittle to make the gear changes more positive and less slip and make the engine rev alittle before changing as many of the V8's i drive seem very lazy. she has total lock up around 50 mph and will cruse happily at 60 / 70mph. Low box is alittle more positive on gear changes but it suite me and i know exactly what is happening. No real advice but this is my set up and works perfectly for me.
  17. Love those alloys.. looks smart
  18. similar to this one.. but you can get slightly differnent ones. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-type-1-fuel-tank-petrol-VDO-1200-1300-1500-1600-1641-beetle-bug-/330700999104?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DDLSL%252BSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BUA%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D260856226337%252B260856226337%26po%3D%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7005519332798530841
  19. i did the same with my bobtail. look at a classic vw beetle tank, they fit perfect and got the lr level sensor to work in it too. you would think it was made for this application as the passenger side of the tank has a nice arch in it perfect for the exhaust bend over the axel to run. you'll understand totally when you see a vw beetle classic tank. the out let for me was perfectly situation in the space between the A frame... works a treat.
  20. i run the same as you, the same freespool off the arb pump. no problems works faultlessly and has done for a year now. so unsure why your having problems... take it apart and grease the seals and try it again. (well wait first till you have spoken the giggle pin) i could be wrong but arent these freespool's goodwiches? not gigglepin's, gigglepin just being a reseller?
