its a mad mad world 🤦‍♂️😂

I hope to soon be enquiring about a pair of lockers and associated bits.

I'm sure if I spend more money on it, it'll start to love me back.

Was this an autoreplace by the forum? I assume you aren't saying Dave is talking rubbish, that would be most out of character for you ;)

You have ridden in a car with B6s, my Audi coupe...

It was, I have made the appropriate corrections! I thought censors were there to make posts less offensive...

Your Audi rode very well, though that being a sports car makes me nervous. The pitching of a 90 might be even more pronounced with stiff/sports shocks.

We can only wait and see. There are another Bilstein set that is £400ish, I think they were standard fitment on one of the LR special edition. If these don't work, I will go that way.

I've fitted a lot of B6's to vehicles over the last ten years or so and I don't rate them they are simply not what I would expect from a Billie.

Ah bololocks. Made a decision on them shortly after Christmas (boredom + payday) so we'll see if I come to regret it. £290 from paddocks so not terrible.

My current Armstrongs are just unworkable on anything other than smooth roads or off road where it doesn't matter. Any improvement is good.

I remember you were impressed with my Gaz shocks a decade ago but I daren't take the chance they could accidentally assemble another good set for the £5.25 they're asking.

  4. There's a lot of filler in that car so you have a few things at play - the panels are thicker so don't align flush, then you have whatever distortion from the impact(s) they've taken. Filler doesn't magically un-bend a panel; it's hard to see from the photos but I would expect you have them pinched flush at some points and gappier than a tramp's dentistry in others. That's going to be very difficult to make right.

In any case it would need sanding back even if you want to roller/spray-can it. I would investigate the bits that are flaking off (a sign of filler, as is unevenness that looks like bubbles of corrosion which hasn't surfaced) and see how what the panel underneath really looks like. Then you can establish if it's worth the rest of the labour when new panels are available.

Due to the time and cost involved, I would definitely see if this is salvagable before undertaking a body swap, and even then you're not guaranteed perfection. Ask me how I know....

What you have is a perfectly functional vehicle, so it really depends how much you care.

That's just my opinion so probably do the exact opposite of what I said.

Hitting the second hand market already! Local to me, utility wagon, 2500 miles. £50k+VAT

I can never understand how someone can hate money enough to sell a new vehicle within months of buying it.

I suppose the fact it's +VAT is a hint as to who/why it was purchased, but even so.

Perhaps they just couldn't get on with the footrest. Who knows.

  6. Because it never fking ends, I have fitted my new temp gauge and sender..... but it doesn't work.

The ECU is reporting normal temperates while the gauge sits at just below 40 degrees. The + and S (signal?) terminals on my 2002MY wiring harness had to be swapped around to match the markings on the rear.

With the positive and S terminals attached but no negative, the gauge will sweep beyond the 120 mark and stay there regardless of engine temperature. With the earth, it sits at 40.

I've tried swappingthe + and S connectors back (opposite of what the markings want), but it just doesn't work, which I see as a good thing.

I'm thinking either this sender is not matched, or there is a problem in the gauge.

    Any thoughts?

  7. I'll keep this brief as it's Nak's thread for a completely different thing. The new screen was £32 from here but it seems I bought the last one - they'll no doubt relist.

First thing to address is no, any big screen in a Defender looks wrong. It's never going to blend in like it's OEM.

The sound is good enough for a 90, the touch screen functionality is very good and it does everything I need of it. The main/only purpose I want it for is as a screen for the blind spot and reversing cameras. At the moment I only have the blind spot camera as you can't manually cycle through them, so I need to get it wired in to activate with the reverse light.

    For this purpose, it's perfect:

It fits well and doesn't obstruct the controls, I can and have operated the passenger side from the driver's seat. It looks like it's in the way but it's a trick of being stuck out from the fascia. I originally didn't lke this screen for its taper, but that makes the lower controls more accessible.

    Hope that helps someone.

Sorry, ThreePointFive.  Just re-read your post and seen the link to ebay.

    Mike

It's a shame you're over there or I'd send you my unit. My new one has arrived and suits my needs so now I have one surplus.

I suspect the postage is more than the unit cost, which would wipe out the benefit?
