  1. Thank you both. I saw that in the worshop manual, but Paddocks and Island don't list them online, so I wondered how important it was.
  2. I am fitting new shells to the the mains and con rods on a 200tdi. Should I reuse the the old bolts in the main bearings and the old nuts on the con rods please? Thanks Andrew
  3. Possibly. I was concentrating on getting of the dual carriageway at 70mph. It took about 5 litres to re-fill. It was the change of engine noise that made me dive for the grass verge and switch off asap.
  4. On Monday morning an oil cooler hose split dumping most of the engine oil. Now with both hoses repaired and engine oil topped up, the engine is very noisy in a rattly way. Have I done damage or I has missed something please? 110 200tdi Defender.
  5. I have just fitted 28" Michelins on my Citroen. They clear the screen well and flex well. Can't pass judgement on longevity yet.
  6. Last Christmas I got XL mirror heads and heated mirror kit from Mudstuff. Both are brilliant for safer drvining (easy to justify to the family!)
  7. Ideally new lock washers, though the old ones can be reused if they are in reasonable condition. You can use sealant on the drive flange instead of a gasket. The tolerances are not that fine, so the gasket is only serving to seal the hub. I tis worth having a tool or socket to fit the hub nuts, if you don't have one. It makes it a lot easier to judge/set the tension/torque.
  8. I have a problem with the lock barrels coming lose in push button door handles. I replaced all the locks for ones of the same key last year. Earlier this year the barrel in the handle came lose with the screw dropping out of the end, I re-fitted it so tight that the key only just turns the lock now. Now the barrel on the drivers side is coming lose! Any tips or advice please? Thanks in advance, Andrew
  9. Would be a good idea to in include a temp sender for piece of mind
  10. Many thanks for the fast response. I have had to do similar in the end. Lets hope I haven't caused it to leak
  11. Hi, I have a problem removing my Boost Pin from a 200tdi injection pump. Originally it was semi-seized, but I have freed it by working it up and down with WD40 sprayed under the diaphragm. Now It won't come totally out, I think the lateral pin is stuck part way out and the bottom ridge of the boost pin won't come past it? Is there any way of giving the lateral pin a nudge without removing the end cap please? Trying to avoid removing all the throttle levers and springs.
  12. I bought mine from www.mod-sales.com , which is Withams at Colsterworth, near Grantham. There have ongoing auctions for ones that need work, plus big traditional style auctions every so often. They are the official release agents for the MOD If patient and don't mind doing some work, you can get a bargain. Otherwise they can take the Michael.
  13. Many thanks. Quite amusing and will sleep on it>
  14. A lot of good info on www.Glencoyne.co.uk
