Sorry to dig out this old post, but have a bit of information to share. Checked on Hardy Spicer's current catalog, and it appears the HS-120 is no longer on the list. Can't really say if there's any obvious plus points. I think people do this coz the mechanical pump can be tweeked. I am changing mine purely because the electronic pump and throttle position sensor is malfunctioning, so instead of forking out more money looking for new electronic pump & sensor, I might as well use the mechanical pump sitting on the shelf.

Hi Pete......sorry to re-surrect this old post. How did you get rid of the 'check engine' light?? Will removing the ECU from the loom cure that? Cheers!!
