  1. As I understood it if your TDI was of a CSW type then it was regarded as a private car and was exempt, but if it were hard top or truck cab then it wasn't - maybe the system thinks your tomb raider is not exempt because it was registered before Jan 2002? Even though it is Euro III compliant..
  2. cheers Chris i'll give that a go
  3. It appears the coil (04) has become dislodged from the valve body (09) at some point and now air is comig through the top nut when the compressor engages which suggests that perhaps the valve stem or plunger have gone awol maybe i will have to get the complete solenoid valve after all..
  4. Hi Tom it would indeed be the black knurled thing thats the problem or whatever screwed into it before, am i right in thinking i can put any suitable bolt in there and it will do the job? Rich thanks for the offer i'll come back to you if a trip down B&Q doesnt come up with something cheers guys Ed B
  5. Can anyone tell me whether the part circled in red on my arb compressor is available as a seperate part? it appears to have been damaged.. many thanks Ed B
  6. Thanks for al the advice guys, it appears to indeed have a bulb in the switch, maybe my previous 200 tdi had the same switch and the bulb didnt work in that one either.. many thanks
  7. Had my 90 fail its M.O.T. today, one of the reasons being that the Hazard warning tell tale was not working on the switch itself. Thing is i dont ever remember there being any illumination on the switch itself only on the dash, which does illuminate when the hazards are on.. I found this on an M.O.T. site A hazard warning device is not required by Regulation, but, if one is fitted, it must be tested. The hazard warning lamp 'tell tale' may be a separate light or the same as the indicator 'tell-tale. However, it must be a flashing light surely the light flashing on the dash negates the need for one on the switch.. and does the switch have flashng illumination anyway? Coz if it does i cant rememebr seeing it either onmy current 200 TDI or the previous one, can anyone confirm this?
  8. cheers Western, looks like it might be a dodgy flasher relay after all Ed B
  9. Hi everyone, got a bit of an electrical gremlin with my indicators at the moment on my 90 200tdi, sometimes they work fine and sometimes not at all, what should be on my checklist for such an intermittent fault? many thanks Ed B
  10. I'd do what chris says, encourage viewings and suggest you're willing to sell at the right price off ebay.. worked for me selling two motorbikes on there..
  11. A lesson to us all (including meself) to carry a fully operational extinguisher, that video makes for scary viewing!! Glad to hear you're OK Si, that's the main thing..
  12. I think a lot of people getting into offroading / landies for the first time, go the scorpion route. After all just look at their website, looks a lot more professional than most others and you'd be forgiven for thinking that the service would match. At the end of the day they market their products v. well, unfortunately some of their gear, while looking pretty trick isn't up to the job compared to some of their less well known competitors products P.S. If you're planning on visiting the showroom to purchase something, make sure you've got a lot of time on your hands... Mail order rules!!
  13. Hmmm, perhaps they only work with Gatso's.. let's see..
  14. My last experience of Craddocks was not a good one. I ordered a boss from them, which I was told would definitely fit a momo wheel for my 200 tdi hard top. Now when i recieved it, guess what - absolutely no chance of it fitting.. Had to send it back to them at my expense, when I requested that they pay for the return shipping was given the total runaround treatment before finally getting them to agree to pay for the shipping. But did they? In a word NO!! Not happy
