  1. Hey - yeah, that door striker needs changing :)... Yes, we started with 8psi, then 4psi, then 3psi, and we wanted to go lower but the gauge didn't go that low...Got me a 0.5psi increments gauge and receiving that next week...very fair observation you are 100% correct...also, despite the 3T weight, the tires seem to have too much floatation, may need some grooving...
  2. Well, after 3 years of sourcing, building and assembly...we've tested the rig enough to do a good beat down...here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAEs6Ojo77cLots of great tech from Hardline...so hope you like it...now: need some stickier/skinner big tires!
  3. I have one in my 3 door...was a pain to install. It is at the garage getting a new clutch...can share pictures next week if needed?
  4. Update from the past weeks...hoping to have it plumbed and running next week...
  5. Get the front rubber tower isolation items...OEM items, should be 8 pounds each in cost...they isolate GREAT...rear ones are even cheaper!
  6. Agreed, in fact I have a set of 5 42.5" sticky skinny boggers on 17" rims that I think I will enjoy more and will be using for Breslau, Croatia trophy, etc...or my set of 5 x 40" Treps...but yes...when the holes dug are the size of a car, you need 54s
  7. Here some pictures of the build in progress! Any/all votes will help!
  8. Thanks guys - not looking for "world approval" Marc...this has been an individual goal &desire for 20+ years... Just looking for support to get into the top 10, regardless of the rank. Thanks! Nadim
  9. Hey guys - So we heard the news yesterday (haven't seen an issue live in hand) that we made the cut of 31 trucks for Four Wheeler's Top Truck Challenge 2015! We are #25 on the list and - being that this is a premier world-class competition - we're pretty excited! Needless to say...the 1983 Defender 110 HCPU has already undergone a lot of transformation, but I'm trying o keep with the theme of the Land Rover Challenge truck look/feel... If you do pick up Four Wheeler regularly, I'd appreciate a vote...if you don't, maybe this is a good time for a good Land Rover cause...I think this would be the second time a Land Rover was included in the top 10 (a nice D90 was in there in the 90s) in the past 22 years... Thanks as always! We're scrambling to finish the truck, test it, and then ship it from the Middle East to Cali! Nadim
  10. Thanks guys…this week we sealed the steering and the gear/transfer/underdrive boxes…next week we are finishing the rear differential (Salisbury with disc brake conversion, Dana 60 ARB and R&P, 35 spline chromo axles, ARB cover) and starting on the front (Toyota conversion with ARB, chromolly 30 spline axles and 27 spline Longfield CVs, D44 cover). In the meantime the 4.2 V8 was sent for machining and the goodies will be installed on it the week after…the 36" Iroks are on the headlock rims already, the shocks and springs are ready to mount, and the D44 winch bumper and the M8274-50 are ready for installation. Interior is all new Exmoor trim and the dash is in wiring need, but that's about that…beginning Feb this should be running!
  11. Hey there - finishing up my 1991 D110 build up (36" Iroks, headlocks, 4.2 V8 with goodies, Rovota front, S60 rear, Fox remotes, eco-cage, M8274-50, etc…building it as a support vehicle for my challenge truck)… So installed the 2wd conversion today and wanted to get opinions before I go ahead and button the LT230 up…is this the right way to having the 2wd for REAR wheel drive and then once in diff lock sending to both front and rear? Thanks!
  12. I thought the LT95 was strongest...yet the LT85 is the strongest for the LT230 transfer case
  13. Good conversation and appreciate all the input... A fellow Defender owner over on Devon 4x4 board showed that he fit PRPs as well, so did Buck on Pirate4x4...I don't like the rake either and am thinking of how to minimize it. In fact, I'm looking at the "least" rake I can get out of a suspension seat...we'll see...need to decide in the coming 2-3 weeks. I'm going to see the local (Dubai) SPARCO seat supplier to see if something fits the bill/arse...
  14. Definitely would love to have you part of the crew ... Yeah...ALL the US Off road competitions (rock, baja, desert, KOH, etc...) MUST have suspension seats, so can't imagine them being anything BUT safer for you...
  15. Would be great to meet you there! You competing? I'm hoping to do Croatia and Breslau in '14, adding KOH, KOV in 2015...Lagoda seems at a different commitment level www.racing-seats-usa.com describe suspension seats as: "Some of you have heard the term "suspension seat" but what is it, exactly? A suspension seat is an absolute necessity when conducting serious off-road maneuvers in your truck, suspension, SUV, or rock-buggy. As the name implies, it suspends the driver in a web of bungy-type suspension chords, attractively and comfortable overlaid in top-of-the-line seating material. The effect of this suspension is to reduce the g-force of the impacts that your body absorbs by an order of magnitude or more. For serious offroaders, a suspension seat is not an option--it is absolutely mandatory. Just as road-race driver would never dream of competing in a stock automotive seat, an off-road driver needs a high-quality suspension seat such as these manufactured by Corbeau to maximize their driving experience. Besides being drastically more comfortable, the suspension seat make the experience safer by translating the the attitude of the vehicle to his body while allowing him or her to focus on piloting the vehicle--rather than trying to hold themselves upright." I'm looking at PRPs, Corbeaus, etc...
  16. Hey there - how's everyone doing! Been busy finding a doner truck (1983 110 HCPU) , registering/insuring it, and starting with the core parts of my new challenge truck (Croatia 2014 should be the debut)...almost everything is accounted for albeit for some small items... Once of which is the seats: with the crammed seating area, I want to have a safe suspension seat that doesn't take up too much space...it will be mounted on some "sub-frame" on the seat box that extends to the chassis/rock-sliders/exo-cage, so that's not the issue... So who's installed suspension seats in a D90 (truck cab pick up or SW/ST with the rear bulkhead)? What would you recommend (brand/model)? What size are you (I'm 6'2" 250lbs...)? Thanks in advance! Nadim
  17. So where are you buying the heated screens nowadays? Best price/quality
  18. Yep, great link. We are doing the disc conversion on our '91 110...all bolt on OEM stuff
  19. Hey there, I'm going to be in London 19-21 March for business and trying to carve out 3-4hrs to visit a breakers yard to get some interior parts for my 110 CSW that's in the Middle East...looking for headliner, B, C and rear window plastic interior fixtures and finishers... Any leads/hints would be welcome...and if anyone wants to meet up for a beer Tuesday the 20th let me know! Cheers, Nadim
