I have searched through all the forums for this and come across similar problems but all are slightly different and the cures have not solved my problem. I have a "01" DHSE P38 wjith the harman kardon sound system and satnav. The satnav screen illuminates but is blank, the sound system does everything it should but no sound, on further investigation the amplifier in the rear behind the trim and sub woofer does not seem to be getting any power. I have checked all the fuses and all are OK. There is static coming from the speakers at a low volume. I am not particularly concerned about getting the satnav working but I do want to get the sound system working. I wonder if anybody might be able to shead some light on the problem or suggest a cure?

Hi Nidge, I drove a 200tdi 90 as a daily drive the only thing I did was put a higher ratio transfer box from an auto RR and tweeked the pump slightly and it made it very quiet several people driving 300's actually commented it was the quietest LR they ever traveled in.

Hi Roel, I have exactly the same problem but parts seem impossible to get, it seems like it would be easier and cheaper get a new locker. Don't know if I would go detroit again though for that reason.

Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by "crowned"

I have a P38 and have replaced the bags with the Dunlop's seem fine. As far as I know the cone on the arnott ones have a different shape cone which make the ride firmer stiff on the lower setting and soft on the highest setting which is opposite to the dunlop ones plus as far as I know there is a guarantee with them. I think I would go with the Arnott ones if I was to do it again.

I am fed up of breaking shafts, CV's etc what would be the best budget option to get the strongest axles possible with lockers under a 90. Nissan GR/80 Series toyota or Ashcroft/maxidrive. My preference would be to stay with strengthened land rover internals but this works out expensive I can get 80 series axles with lockers and do the fitting myself. I really like the look of these Rovertracks but the kits and shipping would work out too expensive has anybody done anything similar here? I would really appreciate some help on this, what have you done? Forgot to mention I don't want to go for ARB air lockers.

How do I set the sun roof on a P38? The windows just hold the switch down for a couple of seconds in each direction but this doesn't seem to work on the sun roof any suggestions?

I have a set of 18" Nexen Roadian 542 on a P38 they are fine have had no problems with them so far they seem to handle fine but I don't know if I would go for them again I cant really say why, I prefer the goodyear wranglers.

Had a search and dont seem to be able to find any previous posts on this subject. does a P38 have a pre-wired loom for a caravan power socket?

Hi I was just wondering if anybody has had a similar problem with the ignition on a P38. when I remove the key from the ignition the dash display tells me the key is still in the ignition and I cant lock the doors using the button on the key fob I have to physically lock the door using the key. As far as I can see in the ignition their is a white plastic tab which detects if the key is in the ignition and this has stuck. Is it possible to replace this part without having to change the ignition or is it possible to disassemble the ignition to get at this?
