  1. To properly check hot oil pressure, you need to get the oil to maximum temperature, which is around 95 to 100 C. You need a hard drive for 15 to 30 minutes. Then check idle oil pressure. There is a huge difference in viscosity between 65 and 95 C. A typical oil's viscosity is 6 times higher at 40 C versus 100.
  2. 20 psi is safe. Get a boost valve/controller to adjust it. Do not fiddle with the wastegate rod. It damages the actuator. Nobody knows the safe temperature. Garret specifies 720 C continuous limit for the turbo and this is certainly safe.
  3. Coolant temperature gauge and sender (suitable for 300TDI) https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/vdo-water-temperature-gauge-310010002 https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/vdo-water-temperature-sender-1-8-npt-thread-323801005001 Volt meter https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/vdo-voltmeter-gauge-332010001
  4. Check you engine ground. Your main loom ground. Your ground connection from the gauge to the main ground. The best idea is to run a ground from the gauges to the engine directly, but make sure the main engine ground is solid. Run a new wire straight from gauge to sender. The loom connectors cause endless problems. You should have bought a VDO and not waste money on the LR gauge. They are carp.
  5. Give a small lift and reduce noise transfer from the axles.
  6. Yes, but pretty much every car has a diode in the circuit to prevent the alternator back feeding the switched circuits when the ignition is turned off. In Defenders, this was adding in 1991 as the engine would keep running if there were no switched load on.
  7. Interesting that personal attacks are acceptable behaviour on these forums. Try and act like an adult.
  8. 1156 is the normal bulb call out in North America. As above BA15S is the base style.
  9. They will probably sell a few in the UK as people are conned into believing that the Indian owned and Slovakian built vehicles are British. I doubt that the rest of the world will notice.
  10. I suppose, but it is a boring looking and very expensive SUV. I can't imagine anyone ever thinking "serious offroader".
  11. If you say so. I've asked a few normal people and not one has heard of the new Defender. Anyone that I've shown a picture just thinks it is another SUV.
  12. It is not over kids. Spain just did a thorough antibody survey. They found a 5% average infection rate in the population. There is room for 10 to 15 times more cases and deaths still. It is now just starting to hit areas of the globe.
  13. What gives it a serious offroader image? Grab a bunch of random "normal" people off of the street. Show them a picture of this thing. I seriously doubt any of them will udder the words serious offroader.
  14. The biggest thing we did was use larger wheels. We did some testing and they were better off road. Good thing they have seasoned off road experts at the helm...

  16. That is extremely unlikely. Other corona viruses have shown immunity for no more than two years. If you want to have enough infection to gain herd immunity, you will need to accept the death of 0.5% of the population at a minimum (300,000+ in the UK).
  17. The turbo. You won't get any more than 19 psi out of a stock 200TDI turbo.
  18. Apparently you have never driven in the UK. Everything other than the motorways are in horrible shape, very narrow and have a 60 mph speed limit, at which, every local drives. Why do you think so many great rally drivers come from the UK.
  19. You need to be tested... Where I live every single person with any symptoms is tested. The positive rate is 3%. So 97% of people with symptoms have something else.
  20. Except.... 3/4"-UNC is 10 threads per inch. 25.4 mm for 10 threads. You need a thread gauge to tell for sure. Regardless, 3/4" is 19 mm and that is not 19 mm.
  21. Locally we are doing much more testing than you guys (over 3 times). Every single person with any symptom is tested. There is around a 3% positive rate for COVID. That means 97% of people with COVID type symptoms have a different infection.
  22. Nope. Early arms use M20 according to the earliest parts catalog.
  23. They are a designer of lifestyle vehicles for the wealthy.
