Happy Nude Bears all 3 simple questions from a simpleton! Tyres: Trying to establish the correct ture pressure with whats listed in Haynes, and I can't understand Tyrese! The tyres on our 90 have - R235/70 R16106T RM7J. Can anyone point me to a tranlation tool for what they mean? Rear De-mister- Can the element be replaced in-stu if it's damaged, or does the whole glass need replacing? Lastly, on behalf of my girlfriend - whyn is when driving through a local well known and persistent puddle in a Peugeot 206, the water scythes away symmetrically either side, when driven through in the 90, it all seems to concentrate into a giant horizontal coffin shaped slab of water which drenches the windscreen, giving a momentary excitment of total blindness, even with wipers on "Do I Have To?" Speed (actually they only do "Do I Have To?" speed now since the faster, "Oh All Right Then" wiper speed has gone the way of the rear-demister. Cheers! Jon

Morning It must know I've been talking about it. Earlier, It turned over once, then died. Then proceeded to 'click - click' on every key-turn after that. Not being overly technical, I undid everything, checked battery charge and reconnected and it started just fine. But to save my other half getting stuck or stranded in the week, what could be the cause of click-click-fever? It couldn't have been poor connections because the glow-plug light and battery light came on with the ignition, and the charge seemed o.k? Following yesterdays post asking for electrical references (thanks for the suggestions) this is in light of every week, a new function going off-line. It's quite exciting actually, we never know what will work or what won't every time we get in it. Rear screen wash means "indicate right" and reverse light flashing means "intermittent fog wiper". I guess.

Cheers, there's quite a few weeps; hopefully will sort them out one by one, now the main leaks (crank case & sump) have been sorted.

Morning all As I only drive the truck on weekends (wife has it in week) I only noticed yesterday, while coasting to a stop almost landed me in my next-door neighbour's Fiat's back seat; that the brakes weren't right. A quick test-drive seemed inconclusive; sometimes they felt fine, but (at lower speeds?) it felt they weren't servo assisted and it was like stopping when the engine wasn't running. The fluid reservoir is full, but peering with a torch under the air-filter, there seems moisture/fluid around the vaccuum pump, but that could just be general engine gippage? I haven't crawled underneath yet (I need eggs AND bacon for that) so thought I'd ask while I finish me coffee. Cheers for any help. Jon 300tdi 11400mls

Evening! I know it's not strictly technical; but we need to get a roof-rack/roof-cage on our 90 this week due to unexpected workage coming our way though some festivals. There seems to be a wide range on ebay and commercial sites; but can anyone recommend a site/seller or product? We need to carry empty apple boxes and canvas. Cheers Jon

Right on, Sam! Mine hasn't worked either and have been loathe to post the question as there've been other, more oily and significant issues to ask about. Howdy! Can anyone help with a noise problem? I don't drive the thing day-to-day (300tdi 11000mls), only weekends, but noticed today while off to market something which I'd picked up before, but slightly more noticeable. On changing down/slowing down or coasting , there's a low rumble/rattle which I had put down to a panel-rattle or something like that, but it's definitely more strident than before, and now I can also feel a slight vibration through my feet (and behind!) Intuitively it feels like it's coming from the near-side (if that's the same as 'left side'?) but I'm not certain. Wheel bearing or cv-joint? Cheers all! Jon

Hi, just a quickie; 300 Tdi, fuel guage needle; when it drops to just the right edge of the red, how many miles/km have we got left (broad guesses?)? Having only driven cars before where the fuel warning light means you've got another 2 days driving to do. Cheers Jon

We've a 11200 miles on a p reg 90, that's now working everyday. It's in apparent good nick with mostly original bits, apart from usual wear & tear. Any suggestions for upgardes/modifications of components to make it a sturdier truck as time & budget allow? (mind you it seems pretty sturdy, as is) Cheers Jon

Afternoon We're getting closer to tracing our oil leak(s) now on our recently bought P-reg-90 300tdi and have identified the following causes and likely works needed;a leaking crank-case oil seal (to be replaced, assuming timing belt hasn't been knackered) and leaking sump (with cross-threaded drain plug, also to be replaced) A question for the professionals and super-capable DIY-ers out there; what sort of job is this in terms of time and effort, so we could compare prices between garages/mechanics? We haven't got the ca$h to get it wrong or the skills/space/time to D.I.Ourselves. The other alternative is to leave it, not worry but keep checking for a total-oil-loss situation and wait! Cheers Jon
