  1. Hi all, posted over X-mass regarding a problem with my 51plate TD5. The vehicle drove well until I either gave it some stick down the motorway or had to load the engine up a hill. As soon as I came off the power and then tried to accelerate again, I'd have no power (but the LR would keep running) and I'd be chucking loads of smoke out of the exhaust. After changing various sensors and air flow meter , and having the ERG valve replaced, it now looks like the problem was caused by a rubber hose from the turbo, that is collapsing as the vacuum is formed by letting off the power. Sadly I couldn't diagnose it, so its been done by a LR specialist just outside Shrewsbury Thanks to all those who helped with advice and info......... Steve
  2. Just dropped the soundproofing off the top of the engine to have a look..... There seems to be two solenoid units (on rubber mounts), both with 3 pipes coming from each??? Is that correct? Do I have to disconnect both of the electrical connections? Sorry to be a paininthebottom, Steve Edited by Lord Monster of the Bog, to remove a naughty word
  3. Many thanks for the welcome and the advice. I'll have a look tomorrow and report back. She's been a bit moody of late... Problems with the smoking... Problems with the wiring loom to the injectors....miss fire. Problems with the rear suspension.....Air bags and compressor. Steve
  4. Hi all, new poster here I have a 51 plate TD5 that has developed a fault. I'd be interested if anyone has experiences similar..... When I have to load the engine with plenty of rev's to get up a hill etc, its fine until I have to back off the throttle at the top of the hill, then when I try to accelerate again, I loose all power and get loads of smoke pour from the exhaust. The engine doesn't cut out, and it dose clear eventually (in around 10-30 seconds normally) clear. Its been suggested it might be the EGR valve! Any advice/info greatly received, Steve
