  1. Hi, I have a similar set up using Maxidrive PTO etc on my Hybrid, I've had it for about 3 years now, great bit 'o kit, the major downer is you can't drive/winch assist, not unless its possible to plumb in the ZF pump to take over at low gearbox speeds. However the great advantage is it'l winch all day, needs virtually zero attention, and its very reliable, that being said, I do have an electric on the rear, and have had stirling service from it, so for me the jury is still out. BTW I will be fitting an hydraulic winch to the LandCruiser, so I've probably answered my own question, V nice installation, looks good, well done. Best Regards . Bill Westley
  2. well done lads, thanks, maybe an enquiry now to said club, see what comes up! looks promising. The Corsica trip is run by the GRM so should be good, As you know we're off to Morrocco in Jan, so sadly cannot join you for the fun and frolics (thats right, Frolics) in Oct. Mons Flint is conspicuous by his absense. Thanks again, best Regards Billy
  3. Hi Peter, looks very interesting, I can get it translated and get back to you, you up for Corsica in October with Kay, looks like Rosemarie and I are going, ( fingers crossed very hard) BTW the bushes in my front radious arms (QT) were totalled on the Cevenol, seems you were unlucky, heard from Mons Flint?
  4. Its events that I like, driving and winching only when you have to, not, winching and driving when you can , I have greenlaned in Spain and France, and it is good, as you rightly say, Best Regards
  5. If you want greenlaning the pyrennees or Alps are great, if you want more, Try the Lousa Trial in Portugal, (every type of 'froadin including night section 3 days) or the Trophy Cevenol in France (Blow your socks off for 3 1/2 days) there are more out there it just needs more research. Best Regards
  6. Hi, I'm looking to do an event in France /Spain in the next 8 weeks, similar to Cevenol, any ideas?
  7. Hi, what Peter hit was the same stones that virtually ripped the rear top joint off a Rangie rear axle, fun eh Pete?
  8. Hi, I agree with the above, the likes of me who has very little to add to vast amount of knowledge/skill available here makes it so I'll never be able to use the classified. Its your site so you make the rules but who are the ones abusing it? This is, as you know, one of the better sites, keep it up and thanks for your effort. Best regards Bill Westley
  9. Well it was handy that a pal had a spare, but mine was fitted with polybush "blue" an easy to replace job although now I think I'll use "red", (a little harder), and also put a spare set in the "box" cos its such an easy repair, no press req'd .Rgds
  10. As usual i'm probably the last to find out, had a violent wheel wobble start for no apparent reason, started about 55kmh and if your brave could drive through it, checked all the usual suspects, wheel bearings, swivels obviously wheels balanced, it turned out to be the panhard rod bushes creamed, now great!, this was on my Hybrid running OME shocks, De-Carbon steering Damper, 33x 12.5 BFG Muds on 300tdi axles. never heard of this problem before, you?
