  1. Another Vote for Gwyn. I've got the OME Springs & Shocks plus the Challenge kit. Mine now handles really well on the road, I think young Rhys is running the Challenge kit but not OME shocks & Springs. Go for the full package, you won't regret it. Gwyn's customer service is excellent as well.
  2. Heres a couple, of options QT Services Rebel 4x4
  3. Thanks for the answer. I put an offer of £5200 in, but I haven't heard anything back. I'll keep looking I think.
  4. I would like to retire my 90 from daily use & have been looking at Td5 Discovery's. I've already got a 300Tdi Auto Discovery which the wife uses, do I'm pretty familiar with the Series I variants. I've viewed two this week, one of which I've discounted, the second not sure hence the post The one I looked at tonight is a 2000 MY on a W reg. 5 seat Auto GS, although it's got Aircon & Cruise Control which I guess was an option as the other one didn't have this. It's done 87000 miles, the service book is stamped up to 50000 & no further history. It's pretty clean for the age, the only things I could pick up on was the coolant header tank was empty, a small ding on the front bumper & knackered aftermarket stereo. The guy who is selling it has bought a Golf GTi & has not bothered selling until now, he's just left it sitting on the drive for 3 months unused. We took it over the road to the village garage & they topped up the coolant (pink stuff) & it took approx 1 litre to the level. It drove ok, obviously needs a complete service but I think I can use this as a lever on the price. He's asking £5995 for it. I reckon I could get him down to £5500 or less. Do you reckon it's worth a risk? Still too much money? Best to walk away due to the lack of service history/coolant? Any suggestions, gratefully received.
  5. I'd just like to give a big recommendation for Gwyn Lewis. Even though he is extremely busy, he took about an hour out of his time to talk through what I wanted for my 90. I ordered the stuff on Wednesday & it was delivered into my dirty little hands by thursday lunchtime. Excellent service, you can't get much better than that.
  6. I'm going for the Gwynn Lewis OME +5" kit plus the bracketry. I spoke to Gwynn for a while yesterday & decided on the OME setup. Gwynn did suggest Rough Country shocks as an alternative but I'm happier paying a bit more for the Emu's as I've rarely heard a bad word about them. I sent Gwynn an email last night to confirm he's got the parts I want & I'll be ringing him later today to order.
  7. Well, I've decided on OME but I have a couple of options Go D44 for the Challenge spring/shock package. Or for about £100 more.... Go Gwynn Lewis, still OME springs & shocks, except shocks are +5" & I'd get new turrets, shock mounts etc. What do you think?
  8. I've currently got a set of +2" Procomps fitted to my 90 (Police spec springs red/white all round). The procomps are looking like something the Time Team have dug up & the NSF is now leaking so I need some new shocks. I'm leaning towards Old Man Emu's, does anyone know what code are equivalent to +2"? Paddocks have them at reasonable money but not sure what they are as they have some obscure number against them, not the normal OME product code. I'm also going to replace my springs, so maybe I should just get the D44 kit? Any opinions on other makes such as Terrafirma, Rough Country etc? Thanks in advance
  9. I've just come back from Libya & it cost my driver 15 Dinars to fill up the tank from empty. Which is just under £6.00 Not sure of how much per litre that was, car was some type of Chrysler thing, so a reasonable size tank I'd have thought!
  10. Yeah, sorry Tony. He's in Acle. Not used him personaly but friends have & they rate him. Cheers Brett
  11. Tony, This guy is good & won't rip you off like those pirates at RPI! Kelcrow (LPG Conversions - East of England) Unit 7, Damgate Lane, 01493 750780 Regards Brett

  14. I've got a b-reg hi-cap lined up to buy for cheap. It's got a years mot & tax, it was a farmers truck, it hasn't done many miles & he's really looked after the mechanicals, but & there's always a but, the bulkhead is naff (could be patched) , chassis has been welded up, rear tub is well used, interior is tired. 2.5 n/a diesel smokes a bit until it's warm. I'm thinking of buying it & running as is for a while, the grand plan would be to swap the chassis & bulkhead for galvanised & fit a 2/300 tdi, new rear tub & seats etc. If I do this, could anyone answer the following please? Do hi-caps have a standard 110 chassis or is it different? If I fit a 200, would it fit on standard engine mounts & mate up to the LT77? Any other issues? I'd prefer a 300tdi as I've already got 2 & better the devil you know but I'm not overly fussed. I realise 300's need specific engine mounts, r380 & trans tunnel etc. Cheers Brett
  15. I've passed this on to the Norfolk Rep on the Access Forum (City Hall, Norwich not Internet) He will be addressing it at the Next Access/ROW meeeting. Not a happy chap as all items like this are supposed to be presented to the Access Forum. Seems like NNCC are trying to sneak this through. An important point regarding Fullers Lane is the Landowner calling for the TRO is also a County Councillor We need to see what the lane is listed as on the definitive map, regardless of what the list of streets says, if they have downgraded it to Bridleway on the definitive map it is already lost
  16. I'm running 33x12.50r15 BFG MT's on 8x15 Gay spokes. There does seem to be a bit more choice on 15" rims becoming available now though.
  17. My bad James, mine is Protectakote, memory isn't what it used to be. I bought 1 large & 1 small tin to do my rear tub, can't remember the sizes in litres. FYI 1 large tin is easily enough. Brett
  18. Hiya, I did mine with rhino liner approx 2 years ago. I'm happy with it, easy to apply, make sure you prep well. key surface, wipe with acetone or xylene then roller on in one direction. After 1 hour roller on another coat in other direction 90 degrees. Very grippy, stops stuff sliding around. Not ideal if you want comfort in the rear tub, it is very rough to the touch. Kneepads definitely required for greenlane backscuttling!
  19. If you could find a decent standard 110 for the right money, there's a set of roller sides & a roof on the bay for not a lot Roof & roller shutter sides Rgds Brett
  20. Gringo, The Guys from Discoparts are at the Land Rover Show at Billing so the shop is closed until next week. Try calling them next week. I found there service very good.
  21. I'd like to get a side exiting rear section in stainless for mine (300Tdi) does anyone know if there are any suppliers who do these?
  22. I fitted one of the Paddocks S/S mid pipes last week (old centre section had rotted through just behind the box). My engine is untweaked yet It is pulling better than before & no louder. Definitely worth doing for the price imho.
  23. 2" Receiver Hitch There you go. I've just bought & fitted one, good quality & service. They're on offer at the moment as well Rgds Brett
