  1. Do you have an ETA on the rugby shirts ? I was hoping to have mine before I go on holiday...
  2. I had the same problem also. I have registered, but it won't let me logon. GMUD - click the Union Jack to get it in english!
  3. Had to sell the Disco as I was putting £350+ of diesel in a month to get to work. Have bought a Punto 1.2 and an old series III to replace it, but SWMBO is already nagging me to get rid of the series(12mpg + no belts for the kids)
  4. One of the supermarkets (ALDI/NETTO can't remember which one) has one on offer this week for a tenner - no idea how good there are, SWMBO is picking one up for me tomorrow. Also (sorry, I am about to hijack your thread!), I have heard people say they have had theirs calibrated - how is this done ?
  5. The same thing happened to me on the way home from work in my disco, took the AA 3 trucks and 5 hours to get me the remaining 35 miles home. 1st truck took 40minutes getting there (from a depot 5miles away), and wasn´t even a AA truck, it was a clapped old thing from Egerton's. The PTO wouldn´t work, so he had to ring his mate. 2nd Truck arrived, another clapped out one from Egerton's with no seat belts! After setting off, the driver informs me he can only take me to place of safety and drops me at service station 5miles up the motorway. 3rd Truck (proper one from the AA) arrives 2 hrs later!
  6. Similar thing happened on my wifes cmax the other month, turned out I had booted the fuse box which is in the passenger footwell. The connector was not seated right, gave it a push in and all was ok again.
  7. It looks like the add was a scam (ebay - what a surprise!), thought the price was to good to be true.
  8. Thanks - the guy still hasn't rung me back, so I don't even know if I can view it yet
  9. I will also be travelling up to Scotland(Perth) and back from the Wirral. The first weekend in May, if anyone needs something shifting - nothing to big/oily, will be in the wifes cmax. Phil
  10. Well, I knew it was cracked something! Thanks - will check oil breather.
  11. Hi, I am hoping to go and see a Series 2 with a 2.5td engine tonight, with a view to buying it. I have heard these engines commonly get cracked heads - is this true ? Also, is there any way spot one that is about to go (without stripping the engine!). The owner reckons the engine had done about 120k before it was put in the S2. Thanks in advance, Phil
  12. Hi, I thought I would throw my 2p worth in. I think the standard of moderation is great - although I only have a low post count I have had a lot of use out of this forum - both through general reading, people responding to my questions and generous offers of help from people (sometimes at the other end of the country). I think the current moderation will help stop the forum becoming a victim of its own success. Also, I don't think an off-topic section is a good idea. If you look at the the 'other' forums with an off-topic section, you tend to see less contributions to the technical/members vehicles threads. I think strong moderation and no off topic section are the key to keeping the excellent signal/noise ratio this board has. Thanks, (esp. to the mods who keep the forum going) Phil
  13. Yes, that would great! Cheers, Phil
  14. Thanks for all the replies, I guess 2.25 is not suitable for commuting. I had thought about LPG, its just finding a vehicle that has had a decent conversion.
  15. Hi, Could anyone tell me the approximate mpg I would get on SWB Series II/III with/without overdrive ? I would love to get one of these, but it would have to be used daily, so the fuel consumption is important. Thanks, Phil
  16. Yes, if you don´t service them regularly they can be hard to start...
  17. Thanks Mark. It is now all working, although I am still to use it in anger. I priced at machine mart the equivalent of what I picked up @ aldi for £135 - it would of cost me £300+ at machine mart. Well chuffed.
  18. Thought it was a bit too late to whizz the radius arms off and change the bushes, especially as the SWMBO will need the landy tomorrow. So I just Mildly miffed around with it like a diickhead tested the attachments. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, must have had one too many in the pub last night.
  19. I wasn't pushing hard enough. It required much more pressure than attaching the tools to the hose, they snap in nice and easy. Looks like I am weak thicko then!
  20. Thanks - I have now drained it. Here are some pics of the conector on the compressor and the supplied hose. Are these correct (ie I am thick and can´t connect the hoses) or the wrong type ? EDIT: Thicko attached wrong pictures.
  21. Is there anyway I can discharge this thing without attaching a tool ? It is currently sat outside full of compressed air - I have no wish to bring this thing inside while full and I still have had no luck attaching the hoses.
  22. <THICKO_ALERT> I got one of these from Aldi on friday(Yay payday!). I can´t seem to fit the air hoses to the compressor. The tools attach to hoses fine and I can also connect the air hoses together. The connector on the compressor doesn't seem to be the same type as the quick release ones on the hoses / tools. I am missing something from the kit (or my brain?). I have just given up on the helpline after being on hold for 30mins. </THICKO_ALERT>
  23. Has anyone got the power/torque/rpm curve charts for any of the Land Rover engines ? All I can find is max torque @ x rpm or max hp @ x rpm figures ?
  24. Tell me about it. I take it you are from the L8 end of Aigburth ? I used to live in Toxteth(mum and dad still live there) (by Lodge Lane), its not that long since they stopped burning cars out at the end of my parents road.
