Hi guys,I need to remove the facia panel on my 03 Defender, where the radio/cd and controls are.The panel that surrounds the radio has popped out at the bottom, the part that is in between the electric window buttons and the electric seat buttons. There are two screws at the base of the panel but how do you get the top screws out,do I need to take the top of the dash board out as well,or is there an easier way?Any help would be much appreciated.Steve.
I think that after 2005,they decided to save money and not underseal them any more, mine is a 2003,lovely thick seal all over the underneath, and I have noticed that newer models and Pumas, are just painted, very silly indeed.
I took the dummy air intake off and the front headlight out, easy to get hands underneath for the nuts,no problem.
The c/s screws look much nicer than rivets
Hi,do what I did,buy the 2 for on top of the guards,as they have special cut outs for airvents and aerial, but go to a local metal engineering firm and have them cut out the 2 sills and rear corners in chequer plate,,only cost me the equalvalent of 50 euros, find a landy that already has them on and measure where each rivet goes, and you won't be able to tell the difference, except in your wallet
Hi,just wondering why you removed the cat in the 1st place,Guernsey being such a small Island (I am ex pat Guernsey, now living in New Zealand with a 2003 TD5)why would you disconect it? Cheers
Hi All,yesterday I noticed a couple of fluid drops on the floor mat (03 Defender TD5 120,000ks)traced it to clutch pedal.
Just wondering if it is comming from master cylinder or elsewhere, and can I fix it myself, pretty good at DIY,or will I need to take it into the Stealer, any response will be much appreciated
I have the same problem on my 03 90,in the winter the passenger door pops, also very hard to shut, its summer here now,and the door is fine, can close it with one finger, come winter and the problem starts again. All I can pit it down to is the metal contracting and expanding, have taken off striker plate, adjusted it up and down,in and out,but still can't fix, lubricants don't make any difference
Thanks again Andrew, the one that caused the problem was just under the manifold,at right side rear, they had to take the turbo off,and the manifold, but the plug wasn't rusty,it had not been sealed properly, they took it out,it was still like new, resealed and replaced, fingers crossed the other 4 are ok.Will keep an eye on water holdong tank.
Thanks once again,Steve.
