  1. What's this in metric please...Just in case I need to shim something while in the offi...hahaha JJ
  2. That strue GBMUD, but even some english peaople outed themselve sin this thread that they never heard of it... I never botherd with it so, I just dressed accordingly when it looked like rain...hehehe JJ
  3. It would be broke after about a day as the compressors fitted to household fridges wont survive beein shaken about in a landy for long. JJ
  4. I got a 60 litre National Luna. Still trying to break it after about 4 years of abuse in the back. I'ts been drowned and everything but just keeps going. Its a 60 litre jobby, but really wouldn't mind swapping it for a smaller one, thats not as tall. JJ
  5. Snap on... Or do what my mate has done. Buy a machine mart set, and every time something brakes replace it with the most expensive tool you can afford, eg snap on. I totally boycot Mac-tools...but keep asking their franchisee for flankdrive spanners and other typical snap-on stuff hehehe JJ
  6. Some Unimogs have centre mounted winches, they route the wire thru ali pipes along the chassis. If centre mounted i would go for a pto, as I have seen some truly magnifizent creations on Mogs. Lets say a 45deg slope, Defenders and Yotas are struggling up it with their pimped 8274, flying past, and I mean literally flying, comes a Hellgeth Mog with a PTO driven Rotzler. Ironic bit is that ther are 4 G-Wagens dangling from its towhitch as well... I just watched it gobsmacked, shame the winch weights half wot a Defi weights... JJ
  7. Ok we got mixed news, as I had a native French speaker foning up the other day. As of now they are still awaiting permission to reopen, but they are pretty confident that it will be open for easter. If not we will find a date a bit later in the year, as it is even more damaging on your panels in the wet season. JJ
  8. Are these pay and play days or some form of competition? JJ
  9. Partner as in missus or business? Were abouts in Germany did you live? How can you go to Liverpool by accident? JJ
  10. Can't believe your coming out with this now. Its been every German Landy owners bed time read since about '97 when they brought it out. Oh my god, this is embarassing for the homecountry of the Landy hahaha Even the Swiss were quicker at aknowledging its excistence...hihihi JJ
  11. £65 for a pattern stub axle?????? Holy ****e... And the rest I shall just ignore Mr. Combo refrigerator...hahaha Be happy that your pattern parts failed on your drive while you wer efitting them. Not two days after fitting them at night in a welsh forrest were your wheelbearing collapses and your wheel goes walkies... JJ
  12. I can highly reccomend L-R supermarket in Liverpool. Ask for J or Neil and 99.9% you will have the right stuff there the next day or even same day if L-R Chester got it in stock. Oh all I ever buy is original as I hate fixing them. Paddocks is just...UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRGH JJ
  13. Serves you right for buying cheap and nasty I would say.hahaha I'm sure there are enough threads everywhere that praise the high quality of allmakes etc... We all learned the hard way hehehe JJ
  14. I sit true that they are quite generous in their sizing, ie if your after a 35" tyre your best ordering the 37"? JJ
  15. Sorry I musta over written the 90 bit in my headas soon as i read that he asked for salisbury R&P JJ
  16. Hi, it seems that you have a 110, in wich case you wont fnd matching diff ratios front and back from a series, as you cant get a 4.1 for a salisbury and no 4.7 for a rover diff... So your best bet is enther kam (megabucks) or great basin rover in USA. Also these R&P's will be pretty strong then. One of the users here orders from them quite frequently I think. JJ
  17. I'm sure Fedimas are still a lot cheaper over in belgium and germany. I could bring a few sets over next time I go over in a van if someone finds a supplier. I know of one supplier in germany but unfortunately I'm at war with the guy. JJ
  18. I never 'shopped' my logbook as thats a bit drastic. It's a bit difficult to explain the way stuff is approved in Germany to an English person (no offence). The manufacturer of the part, the rim in this case, would get that specific size rim with that stud pattern approved for a land-rover if they consider there is enough demand to cover the cost. If you buy such a rim then its all custy, as the hardest part is done, all you need now is to agree with the test engineer (these actually are proper engineers with a university degree) that the tyres you wish to fit, fit easily to the vehicle and the rim is within the tyre manufacturers required rim width. Borbet does manufacture a nice 15" alloy rim with such certificate for the land rover. They are very rare 2nd hand so. there are some pictures of my 110 in members vehicles with them rims in 16". If you are interested let me know and I enquire if any are available at the moment. Or if you really want to splash out order some Alcoa forged alloy wheels from America, indestructible. To return to the photoshop, sometimes the engineers include certain clauses that u can only fit such part in conjunction with such part to have it approved, only to cover their arse in teh case of an accident caused by that. But in real life them clauses just caused you more nightmares so u juz had a quick fiddle... My logbook over there had 3 added pages for all the mods. Your saying wheels, bit unclear as tyre + rim = wheel... So if i fitted 35 x 12.5 to a 16" rim it wouldn't affect my speedo and gearing? the tyre size affects the gearing not the rim size... Have you ever had a look what it says after your tyre dimensions...Most like there are the letters LT, which stands for Light Truck, so I think they gonna cope with a little 110 no prob And if your worried about the strength of the rim, enquire a test certificate which shows all the load ratings etc... JJ
  19. Hi Dappe, I could sent you a copy of my log book from when my truck was registerd in germany. I had 315/75 r16 (35x12.5)specially approved by the local TUV on my 110 and it was recorded on teh log book. Also whenever we couldn't get stuff approved we found a similar Land Rover approval and loaded up Photoshop on the computer, if you get my drift... JJ
  20. When I built my winch mount I was thinking of moving my rads an all as well - but on a Td5 that's even more akward than on a Tdi, (especially if you have a uprated intercooler fitted.) So I decided to build a winch mount that sits on top of the chassis rails instead of in between. I ended up with maybe a few degrees less approach angle than if I had moved the whole front end, but lots less work... (Pictures of winchmount can be found in members vehicles) JJ
  21. i got one from winch solutions similar to the one in teh ebay advert...works a treat... and tell you the truth i actually have 3 of them, one on my 110, one on the landcruiser and one on our recovery wagon, and none have let us down yet. JJ
  22. my mate, who posted the circuit diagram on the german forum, has sold and fitted loads of these cruisecontrols to td5's. and i think he only ever had 2 comebacks were he had to help with his rovacom. i got the loom lying here but havent gotten round to fitting it to mine yet. i can get in touch with him and bring some ready made kits ,including the harness and switches over. JJ
  23. i'm having a few people that can actually speak french checkin it out for sure at the moment. i'm hoping its open all weekend as it's quite a hike from liverpool. there will be lots of people from germany coming that i know. have you heard of www.viermalvier.de filip? JJ
