Hi Filip, I have had the car 18 years & this was the 5th set of NGKs that I have fitted so I think its time for a change. I fitted the Bosch plugs over the weekend so we will see how long they last. The old ones came out ok as I always fit them with a smear of copper grease when putting them in, regards Paul.

Hi Filip, Its the NGK glow plugs that are lasting 3 years so I have ordered a set of Bosch for a change. thanks for your input, all the best, Paul.

Hi all, after three years of trouble free starting I recon the NGK glow plugs are failing again, are there any other makes that you know of that may last a bit longer or is a three year life span about right?

Hi Filip, just a long shot but have you tried disconnecting the battery overnight to see if that resets anything (sort of like a reboot) other than that I can't be of any help to you. Good luck regards Paul.

Thanks for the replies lads , just what I was after , I shall have a go at it this weekend weather permitting .

One year on & I have to change this pump as it cant get up the hills any more , I am going on Escapes advise & go through the floor under the rear seat to get to it this time & wondered if anybody has any more advise , pictures , and/or measurements as to the location of the pump & where to start cutting the floor out , pictures would be best . Been there , seen it , done it , but you wont be standing there for long with the back up from all the lads & lasses on this forum , they have always got me out of the sh!7 , you only have to ask 😉

Hi Filip , It was definitely the door handle & not the door latch that went faulty as they gave me the broken parts to show me , they recon when it broke it left the micro switches in limbo so it disabled the engine to protect it from getting nicked . I must "like yourself" that I questioned it when he told me .

I thought I had as well 🙄

UPDATE ! It was a broken drivers door handle 😒 Why didn't I think of that ?

The key was unlocking all of the doors & the tail before I entered the EKA code , I only tried the code as a last ditch attempt to get the engine started .

The central locking is locking & unlocking when I am entering the keycode & I have entered it a few times now with no joy 😢

I am going down to the local garage tomorrow so I will ask them to have a look for me .

Hi peeps , I went to hospital today for a checkup , when I got there I switched it off , got out & the key fob wouldn't lock the car so I locked it with the key , when I came back out of the hospital it wouldn't unlock with the key fob so I had to use the key to get in , I then tried to start the car & all I am getting on the dashboard is engine disabled , it wont even crank over , I put a live wire to the starter & it cranked over but would not start , I have had the car bought back home , where do I start looking ? any ideas . GOD THIS CAR IS DRIVING ME NUTS .

Simon , take an apple out of the bag as your reward , you was spot on with your diagnosis about the front prop shaft , nice one all is good , up & running now as it should be .

Hi , took both of the front brakes apart to inspect them & found everything ok , I have ordered new front prop shaft UJs to see if that sorts things out 🙄

Hi Simon , Took the front prop out today & the UJs feel a little worn but I dont think it would have been enough to make all that noise , however we will see as I have ordered new ones & will post back on here with the outcome once fitted , watch this space 😔

Just a quick update , I got the wheel bearing changed & everything went ok but I am still suffering a bad vibration at around 30 mph through the steering wheel , this vibration started just before I changed the wheel bearing which I thought was a progression of the bearing breaking down but it wasn't , has anyone got any ideas because I am giving up with this very unreliable vehicle .

Hi peeps , I may have a problem with my N/S/F wheel bearing/hub & would like to know when ordering if the same part fits both sides or are they handed ? Also is there anything I should look out for when doing the job or is it pretty straight forward , regards Paul .
