  1. Yea but they are £1625.00 starting bid. The simca ones are £600 and i dot think the mog axles are 4 times stronger than the simca's although ive not seen them in person but im told they have 63mm halfshafts! They are going to take some breaking, and the parts are available in the uk. Neil
  2. Not sure of the gear ratio but i have a picture that the bloke from devon sent me, the swivel is after the drop box so they can be swoped from front to rear depending on which diff lay out you have. Im not sure how to post images on here so i can email it to you if you want. Neil
  3. Im looking to winch challenge it, also looking at the set of portals on devon as well. As for £1000 for the lot i may see if the bloke is open to offers, maybe around the £750 mark. Cheers. Neil
  4. Cheers. its food for thought. The ones on devon have been set up for land rover already and also have lockers front and rear. I thinking of using a chevy v8 to power them as they look like they will need it and they look strong enough to poke up with the power. Good luck with the project looks like it will be a monster. Neil.
  5. The one on devon has just been bored out and rebuilt, as for fueling, i was thinking about efi and this one has no inlet manifold or carb with it so its ready for it. Ive been looking at parts from the states and they seem silly cheep, just have to make sure the parcel isnt too big and customs should leave it along. Thanks for the advice i shall have to do some thinking. But i think £1000 for engine, gearbox, conversion plate and shaft and a transfer box is cheep. What are your thoughts? Cheers. Neil
  6. Just wondering if anyone has any experences with 5.7L chevy v8 engines? Looking to put one into a project and there is a cheep set up on the devon forum, with autobox and adaptor to a lt230 as well. I know they make a lovely noise but is there any pit falls with them? Cheers. Neil.
  7. Just wondering how you got on with these. As the set on devon is still for sale and im interested? Cheers.
  8. Just to clear things up from the inside of Team Madgwick B) Simon and i lost the front winch motor in the ss which came back later in the day but could only manage 20 foot pulls before it over heated again and was useless. The rear winch cable came detached from the eyelet which fixes it to the drum, we managed to bodge it back on but could not trust it on a heavy pull as it came off again twice again during the afternoon. Its just a shame it had to happen the way it did. If we had turned up 10 mins later for the ss who knows what would have happened. But then this is what we all do we push and push untill somethng breaks. Simons car had been faultless all year and the one time it did let us down was the worst time it could have. But on the other hand i really dont think that 9th place on a winch challenge, with no winches is too bad. We had Ed worried!! And we showed that you dont need 60k's worth of ibex to be up there pushing for the lead. So it going to be up to one of you lot to really push him next year as Simon and i will not be able to do the whole series as a team, Simon has other comitments and ive got my new car on the way (which i will be entering so watch out). I must say that the overall series was really good, everybody was friendly, the sites were great. Looking foward to doing a couple next year. Chris Morris The brains behind Team Madgwick
