  1. Hi can someone tell me what will happen to the spedo reading on a 1993 Defender 200 TDi 90, which has had new wheels and tyres fitted- 265/65x16, will the reading be higher or lower. I have read various threads on various forums and it appears that every thread gives the opposite info to the last one, so I am a little confused(this seems to be a permanent state at present, must be part of the joys of 90 ownwership) , so any help will be much appreciated. Hope Springs.
  2. Hi, anybody had any dealings with MRM Landrovers Center.I only ask because I did,and I need a bit of background/history. Thanks. Hope Springs.
  3. Hi again, just another axle swap question ( continuation actually). I have tried the suggestions recieved from my last posting, but I think I really need to change the axle due to the axle casing being too thin. I have tried to get a defender or disco axle but they are either silly money or rubbish. I have the chance of a Range Rover axle which I am assured is in good nick, before I go to check it out can someone tell me if it is a straight swap or more trouble than it is worth. Thanks again for the response. Hope Springs.
  4. Hi gents, thanks for the replies. I looked at replacing the mounts, but the axle case is a bit thin.I have been looking for a defender/disco axle but they all seem to be silly money. Can anyone recommend a good supply of these things. I have been offered a Range Rover axle which looks to be in good nick, are these a straight swap or is it not worth considering. Many thanks again for the help. Hope Springs
  5. Hi all, at the risk of covering old ground I am in need of some advise with the following. I need to replace my rear axle (93 Defender 90) due to rotten shock mounts (one fallen off) and very suspect spring mounts.I have looked through all the forums I can find but without much result, I have been advised that any defender or disco rear axle will fit and the ratios are the same, plus the later disc brakes will improve the braking. Is this correct and do I need the disc brakes as these axles seem to be a lot dearer than the drum version,+ can someone advise a trustworthy supplier of these items or is there a thread somewhere on this forum that I can read. Thanks in anticipation. Hope springs.
