  1. Thanks for the replies. The snorkel I'm looking at is a plastic one part No. LR008383 not the metal one. I'd heard about problems with the Mantec plastic Jobby sealing at the bottom and this looked more substantial. If the Allmakes one is metal then recomendations on plastic ones, Mantec, Safari or LR genuine would be appreciated.
  2. I'm looking on putting a raised air intake on my defender and am quite taken by the landrover part LR008383. In searching the web it comes up with 2 either the genuine LR branded one for £340 ish a bit steep for a RAI but the search also throws up an allmakes4x4 for about £85 is this one and the same part - just branded diferently or are they diferent (can't seem to find piccys of the Allmakes one Cheers Jim
  3. Have Exmoor modulars fitted to my 110 and the seat bases just lift off like the standard LR seat bases do to allow access to battery.
  4. It's an 05 plate (1st registered 2005), having read a bit more since my post it's still as clear as mud, and looks like MOT regs change this year with them is this correct?
  5. I have a shiney new truck on it's way to replace my 300Tdi. I currently have a bull bar and spots fitted to my old landy and want to put something similar on the new one with the ability to take a winch (has nothing but the standard bumper at present) The problem is what will be legal to fit? I would like to go with something like this but wonder about it's legality (don't want to create myself any problems) If thats a no go was thinking about this sort of set up (I don't like it as much aesthetically (and less off-road protection) but would still be happy) but is this legal?
  6. is there a huge risk to damaging things driving it like this, will probably be next w/e and 60 miles later when its refitted?
  7. Cheers for the info so far, doesn't sound like it should be too much trouble - famous last words! One thing I meant to ask is if I remove the front prop will the truck be driveable without it?
  8. Hi everyone, Have been having a weird vibration under load (going up hill) from my 110 at about 40-50mph. Then started to get a "chirping" noise from the front and a "clunk" when taking up drive but quiet as anything driving along. Have just crawled underneath and found alot of play in front propshaft and it's rear UJ knackered/broken . I need to fix this over the next couple of days as the 110 is my daily drive (typically I have a couple of days off work and have to spend them fixing the truck not using it ) and have a few questions. Is UJ replacement a fairly easy job? Do I need to remove the propshaft or can it be done in situ? Would it be prudent to replace both UJ's or should I jus worry about the broken one? Would I be better to just replace the whole prop? How do I find out which one to order? Cheers Jim
  9. Cheers fridgefreezer CPC look like a good place to get the connectors and a nice price too! Any ideas as to what rating they should be (i assume 320A but want too make sure) and what type of wire would do the job.
  10. I'm thinking about fitting an anderson connector to the battery on my 110 CSW for jump starting and battery charging (having alot of issues with the battery losing charge at the moment and struggling to find the cause but that warrants a different thread ) I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to do this, wheres the best place to source the parts from and what bits i'll actually need. (I have a single battery at present but may be putting in a dual battery system in the future) Cheers James
  11. The transfer box on my defender 110 keeps popping out of gear (300tdi). It has done it a few times when under engine breaking and also when changing up. Anyone give me any ideas as to what to check, look at or do to solve the problem?
  12. Currently have a center seat which seems to be next to useless for someone to sit on and doesn't do a great job of being somewhere to put things, so can't wait till i've changed it for a cubby box
  13. I phoned the main number for NFU mutual (0800 282 652) they were really helpful Unfotunatley my local office didn't seem as switched on but were still helpful
  14. I can certainly agree with the recomendation for NFUmutual, only company to give a decent quote with mods and my wife with a provisional licence aswell
