  1. Hi Gazzer thanks for the reply I am going to be using it to hopefully go to some meets, also be used for going to farm when we visit the horses and towing a horse box when the girlfriend has a show to go to, As I get more confident with a 4x4 I would to do a few off road tracks all in all a bit of everything. The over drive sounds like the best idea, I have no idea how one works though and where could I get one fitted I live local to Manchester. like you say best to keep what's in there as its cost and also has done its job for years with no troubles. Hi Steve M I have pm you that would be great if u can email me it as will help me with working on it. a 2.8 with turbo would be good but will see how get on with the 2.5 and try fit a overdrive. Thank you Carl
  2. Hello all few questions hopefully next week the series 3 will be at my home wanted to ask questions about the engine it has in there. its a 2.5 Daihatsu diesel engine in the gent has the papers to say was converted 10 years ago Are these good engines? If I keep this in what shall I look out for? What top end you get from this? I ask as have to drive home on motorway Would you recommend I change this? if so what to if did change this could I change it to a 5 gear as this may help if go on motorway again Other then that is it a easy engine to work on and any other info you can give me on it would be great Thank you Carl

  4. Hello all First of all would like to say hello again I am looking at getting a series 3 and would like a bit of advice before I purchase. Well I currently have a classic mini have had them for years and I am looking to move to a series 3. I know from one end of the classic market to the other. I have seen one I like but have had to come away as unsure will fit in my garage if I am right its just below 77inchs tall a series 3 my garage is only 75inches tall well the door is. My question is will it be easy to take the roof off so can get it in the garage as I don't want to leave it out in open as will want to do some work on it. also when the roof is off do you recon this will go in. thank you speak soon carl
