  1. As has been said, the 300 tdi discovery under bonnet fuse box from behind the battery is the answer.
  2. WRONG! I will photo my E mark tomorow.
  3. We buy paint from these peolpe.
  4. Buy 35" Fedima Scirocos, £125 each inc. at billing from King Off-road. As you can see they are actually over 36"
  5. In order to attract new members the forum needs to get its name "out there". One of the things I think would be worthwhile is getting new forum stickers printed with the url clearly readable in order that people might take note. I base this on the number of local garages who fit a sticker to the cars they service and the number I read while in traffic.
  6. Are we going to go through this again? We should all know by now that the numbers are as good as random unless you know the type of machine being refered to. I have successfully welded 6mm brackets with my 85 amp bargain cheapo mig, could have done it quicker with a bigger machine, would have been easier with a bigger machine but at the time it was all that was available. DON'T BUY A HOBBY TYPE WELDER! I mean the type of welder that halfords sell, I won't name brands, don't want to start any trouble. Instead, spend the same money on a second hand, say 150 amp, professional welder from your local welding supplies place. You'll get a machine that is fully rebuildable, repairable and uses sensible size consumables. This is my opinion and I fully hope you all disagree. I have welded for a living for 10 years.
  7. Steve, did you see your hybrid in the back ground of my first picture, before you owned it when it was nice and shiney
  8. The Rogue Vogue trilogy....... The original Rogue Vogue, was already named and painted when I bought it and the name kind of stuck, I used to want a 90 but having driven a V8 auto rangie there was no going back. Bought for £500, died and was recycled as bean tins. The second Rogue Vogue, built entirely by myself but the name had to stay. Bought for £200, sold when I found out I would soon be a dad! The current Rogue Vogue, when I realised that there was no way I could be without an off-roader I started to plan this one as the ultimate collection of all the best ideas I have seen and thought through. It's not finished yet by any means but I have been more than happy with the performance so far. Bought for, well not actually paid for it yet, hope he doesn't decide he wants it back.
  9. ROTF (absolutely, literally!!!) PMSL.
  10. I took about 5" off the bonnet of my Range Rover as well.
  11. I recently insured another vehicle with Adrian Flux and found them to be very easy to deal with and, as you say, they were willing to accept my full no claim bonus on both vehicles. On top of that, when I said "corr thats a bit expensive", jokingly the reply was "let me talk to my suervisor and call you back". Within 5 minutes they called back and knocked off 20%, making the most modified vehicle I have ever had also the cheapest to insure. £185 tpft.
  12. If one were to be looking for a "budget" winch then the superwinch EP9 range are the best value on the market at the moment and the cone brake seems to be well thought out.IMHO That said there is a lot of mileage in getting a second hand 8274 for not much more money and knowing that it will last much longer than you'll ever want it, if you look after it.
  13. Marlow Dynaline every time. Synthetic Fibre Replacement Winch Rope - weighs only a fraction of it's wire rope counterpart and is even stronger! Dynaline is a 12 strand construction rope coated with Armourcoat to improve abrasion resistance and help protect the rope from ingress of dirt and grit. The benefits of using Dynaline over wire are: 6 x lighter than wire 70% Stronger than wire Easy to splice Does not kink Floats No wire splinters No strength loss when overlapped on winch drum In the unlikely event that it breaks, it will not whiplash. Available cut to length and spliced (see table below) Diameters and break loads: Diameter (mm) 8mm 10mm 12mm Unspliced rope (kg) 7,128 10,836 15,059 Spliced rope (kg) 6,480 9,851 13,690 Available in: Diameters: 8mm, 10mm, 12mm Lengths: 25m, 30m, 38m Weight of rope: 8mm: 3.31 kg/100m 10mm: 5.08 kg/100m 12mm: 7.12 kg/100m (Cheers Steve) Contact me, can do most lengths at the moment in 10 or12mm.
  14. Corr, this place moves quick, just saved this from the bottom of the page again!
  15. How come Verydisco has over 12000 already and how come mine says 2 despite another three posts?
  16. Nigel, you can fit a split charge relay, use a normal relay, vehicle wiring products sell a 180amp one which I use. Connect the coil of the relay to earth and to the battery light terminal on your altermator. Connect the switch contacts to the live pole on each battery via an in-line fuse (100amp). Connect the live terminals via a kill switch for self starting only and use the second battery to run you auxhiliary equipment. Some people will disagree with me but this is how I do it and how I have done it for others and I finished ahead of most of them.
