  1. Thanks Western, Mine is a 3/4 tilt but I think it will follow the same profile as the straight bit of the roof (I am hoping so) No reason why they would make it different? Andy
  2. Hi, I have just bought a tilt for my 90. I have cage on it at present that bolts through the hard top (on the curve) Question is - does a tilt follow the line of a hard-top and will I be able to sandwich the canvas in the same way as I did my hard top? As where my cage sits, there is no room for a conventional hoop/sticks. Thanks Andy
  3. Hi, I am about to convert my 90 from a Hard Top to a Truck Cab with 3/4 tilt. My Log Book (V5) says it's a 4x4 Utility, will I have to notify DVLA and tell them of the change? Thanks AD90
  4. My experience of POR 15 suggests that the only thing it sticks to is human skin, I would avoid. AD90
  5. Hi, I've not used one, but they are based down the road from my in-laws in Pretoria. I have had a look around their place and a good look at their tents and trailers. They look well put together and the trailer-tent combos have a few nice features. Like all these roof-top tents they are built for sunnier climes so not sure how they would perform here in the UK. 6. A little OT, but I only use Eklind Allen Keys, best I've found so far, but still can't hang on the ball-end. AD90
  7. I have some brake lines to replace, I did buy a Laser flaring tool but it's useless. Any recommendations on one that can be used under the vehicle? Thanks AD90
  8. I get all my paint from Spencer Coatings, check out their web-site www.spencercoatings.co.uk Really helpfull and their stuff is good, we use it offshore. I use their recommended system for Steel (Extended Life) Primer: Hi-dur Zinc Phosphate Primer Intermediate: Standard MIO Primer Topcoat: PU100 Finish Wish I had started using it years ago instead of wasting money on Hammerite and POR-15, I might not be so good at welding if I had! Oh, and the factory is very local to me :-) AD90
  9. I have constant battle with bad connections on my 90. I have replaced the lamp holder but need to replace the connectors on the loom side. Any ideas where to get them? Thanks AD90
  10. POR-15, I used it and the only thing it stuck to was my skin! Before parting with your hard-earned for it do a search, don't think you'll find too many fans. I now use Tetrosyl Shutz with added waxoyl and find it much better. AD90
  11. I've got one of these "Halfords 3T Speedy Lift Hydraulic Garage Jack Cat code: 644203-0" I've had it about three years and can't fault it. Nice big saddle, very controlled lowering, great for the 90 and the Alhambra but a little to high for the A4. AD90
  12. Agreed mmgemini, but I prefer not having to flare ends in the field, either way it's safer. All that said, I would not be averse to a bodge to get me out of a challenge section. AD90
  13. Never mind bodging - with my suggestion and a spare flexi (they're not expensive or bulky to carry) you can get home safely, be it from Africa or ASDA, with no bodges!
