Hello ive managed to buy back my old 90 i sold in 2004 ill try and get some pix up but been modifiying it and security , but i went to malvern 3 county landrover show ,and i hadnt noticed till recently as ive had alot going on ,between landy work my ill missus, but after checking my survelance camera i went to the show with wind deflectors on it but they ripped them off at the show and broke all the plastic trim around window , tbh im dubious about going to peterbourgh show as ive booked for the whole weekend its quite sad since ive fitted x end pedal lock gearbox lock steering lock it has 2 immobilizers alarm nowt more i can do , where can i get anti theft bolts ? thx allan d

  4. nigel find yourself a good 98 or 97 disco breaking and put transfer box in aswell straight swap done it on mine the box and transfer cost me 100 quid and the later boxes have the cross drilled shaft and reverse is better glad i done mine
  5. hi no i had already bought an alarm a scorpion one ive now done it but it does not open dsoors with remote no problem it all works ok , thanks tho
  6. in the recent months a load of scumbags living over the road from me took a liking to my camper so had a thatcham alarm fitted to it and since going through disco another two seem to like the truck as someone has tried getting in it so ive a steering lock ect but i have bought a scorpion alarm sa 30 i had one on my other defender , ive wired it in but my disco 200 on a j has no keyfob but has central locking you use a key in drivers door so i thought yeah ill wire it in but it wont work , the lock has a sort of pulse when you operate key and the other wires ,4 in total, 1 live 2 earth 3 lock 4 unlock ive tried crossing it over with a dummy live but no ive also got another universal motot that the alarm works but theres no room in door for it to go , ive looked at alarm instructions but it says 1 for vehicles with negative cdl, im guessing central door lock ,and then positive cdl, but wher on a disco do you connect these wires im lost and advice welcome thx
  7. hi guys ive been wondering what to do i have bought a cobra alarm good one but my disco has central locking but i have to use a key on drivers side does this mean i can connect alarm up to central locking ? or do i have to get an interface ? thx
  8. hi if it was me id get a rear chassis section and change the rot , i really did fancy a d2 but the chassis are shocking considering the chassis is the backbone of 2 tonne ,i would have a good look all around both sides if its ok well weld it up completly and fill it with old oil and waxoil good luck

  10. thx guys its in the garage near him and theyre lost at the moment he bought it as a non runner the guy said it just stopped running and its never re started i think hes on about floggin it now its a shame as for a disco its vv clean
  11. hi guys weve tried taking plugs out testing them theyre sparking put blow torch on them timing ok its all there even tried easy start not even attempting to fire ? im lost lol
  12. well ive not had any time for anything on the landy work work and sleep lol ive just ordered q t/wildbear 6degree castor correction arms for the front and heres the pic of the finished winch bumper and winch
  13. hi guys i have found a v good cond v8 discovery on a 1995 m reg but it wont start ,weve tried everything it turns over theres spark lots of fuel , theyve checked distrubutor leads plugs even tried bypassing with hotwire,the voltage is good at coil and when cranking put new fuel in it ,compression ok he is all about to give up but i thought id ask here any ideas thx
  14. the oil filler is the dipstick tube i believe you check it when at running temp ,put foot on brake and run through all gears one at a time moving it from park to 1 twice and then leave in neutral leave engine running it will give you a correct reading then
  15. hi les i bought my premium es 300 tdi few years back with 104 thou on it it was lovely but the chap failed to say hed been towing heavy plant machines hmmm anyway mine developed a like you say a chieeen noise every now and again i thought it was thrust bearing or rings but closer inspection was the flywheel plate it cost me 250 quid labour and 120 quid for the part it had cracked nearly all the way along .
