Any more pics from others who were there ? The problem with a big site is you can spend hours driving around and not see any action !! Also anyone got a picture of my landy in the pond ?
Been there, done that, only it was the grease for the bearing. Lucklily there was no body on the landy, so getting the props off and the box out was a bit easier.
What a fantastic weekend, even if the weather wasn't the best. Big thanks to Shire's for another very well organised event. I've just emptied the landy, and everything is hanging up to try and dry out
Saturday was a gentle day for me, testing out my new tyres, very impressed, only two climbs i couldn't do. Saw a few of the punch sections being tackled. Intersting to see how different people atack the same punch in different ways.
Sunday brought a bit of rain, which transformed the site, A late night tyre change on Saturday was a good move, as i was then able to explore more of site, including giving my snorkel it's first test in the pond. We managed to collect all the punches in the afternoon and then pootled home for a nice warm bath.
A few pics, not many from sunday as my camera also suffered a bit of water ingress!
Perhaps 4304's on on the back as they are nice and soft, allthough i've heard people say they are too soft. Plan C sould be some 3285's. and some spacers to get the landy to sit level
Sometimes i think sticking with stock in the first place would have been easier
Thanks guys. Certaintly doesn't look like a 3" lift (+1.5" tyre lift) above a stock 90 on original springs.
I'm thinking about changing to a softer rear spring, to improve the ride on rough ground. I'm going to try standard springs, with a spacer ring at the top. Looks like it'll be a spacer ring cut from 70mm plate
Could someone with a 90 HT with standard suspension please measure the length of the coil spring with the vehicle sitting on level ground. From the top of the chassis mount, down to the axle bracket/dish
Thanks very much
Your a lucky man to excape from that. The truck can be replaced, people can't.
Was there anything salvagable from the wreck ?
I best bin the two powder extinguishers in my landy. What should i replace them with ?
There's a simple answer to that, but i'm not going to go there
A simple, strong and capable vehicle was my vision of what my landy would be, and it's sort of there
I got that from Paddocks site, not the best source i know
my vent pipe goes from the top of the tank, to just under the cap on the neck as you've described.
So i'll send it back and ask for STC4072.
Just out of interest, how does the tank vent, with a non vented cap ?
and where is the vent in the cap? as i'll pull this one apart to double check.
Can somone confirm if RTC4741 is a vented or non vented fuel cap ?
IIRC, grey caps are non vented, am i right ?
I needed to replace the one from my landy, as i broke it, and wanted to get a geniune, non leaky one, So as mum was off work today, she went to the stealership, armed with my list of requirments (2 pin, locking, vented, black), and came home with a grey RTC4741 and £41 lighter
