  1. I'm suprised you didn't make the comment about yours being 3" longer than mine Mr Hobbit I cut my 110 down to the same overhang as 90 and used a 90 underseat tank, You should be able to fit a TD5 90 tank under the rear floor if you cut out the extra crossmember. It's something i would have done if i had a bit more time when i built it
  2. You'd loose a massive amount of storage space, a few inches makes a BIG difference
  3. Nothing special from me, just a bench, and a wall mounted tool rack
  4. There was a nice offcut of 90mm bar went in the skip today, though you might struggle to bend that
  5. The bar type loop seems to be a good choice But i prefer a single central recovery point, something like a 5T pin hitch as i use straps mainly as apposed to a winch hook, which needs a master link to fit
  6. Can anyone suggest a place to purchase half a dozen M8 rose joints from for not a lot of money, I've tried ebay but they all seem to be old money threads
  7. I removed the big middle box on my tdi a few months ago (now just the small rear box) and haven't noticed and difference in noise or performance
  8. I don't think the front springs would be happy with an extra 250-300kg on them
  9. The winch mount was tested today to 4 Ton, and all 16 bolts held the winch in place, no suprise really I've just got to undo them all and retorque them all once it's painted
  10. Yes, plenty strong enough I use eye,eye mounts, as the pin can be a bit restrictive at the axle end, when you have a lot of articulation
  11. The 4 hole centres on each foot are on a square 25mm x 30mm, barely enough room to get a socket onto the head of the bolt. Seems a bit odd to me, but as you said Bish, someone has desigined it that way for a reason so i've designed the mount with 16 holes.
  12. And reinforced with 80x80x6 box and 40x80 flat
  13. It's not going on a landy, it's going on a telehandler, It's a Brevini Raptor hydraulic and weighs a ton Good job i'm mounting it on 15mm
  14. I was a bit shocked when i went to measure the footprint, only to find 4 threaded holes in each foot, and 16 bolts in a bag
  15. Is it just me, or are 16, M12 8.8 grade bolts a bit OTT to hold down an 8000lbs winch ?
  16. It's not welded on, but i would have if the chassis wasn't galved, It goes underneath and then up the back of the crossmember, so it's basically a big U shape
  17. The two threaded holes at the botom are for part of the detachable tow hitch
  18. I had to use stuff that thin to keep the weight down Funny you should mention that though, as we had a delivery of 25, 50 and 70mm in work today and i thought of you
  19. I use spreader plates about 10" wide and the full height of the crossmember, 10mm on the outside, 12mm on the inside with two M16 8.8 grade bolts, I've have two winches pulling very hard on the hitch and it's been rock solid
  20. What a cracking weekend, the weather stayed nice for a change and it was nice to meetup with the guys A couple of pictures i took over the weekend
  21. I'll be interested to here what they actually are, as mine measure exactly 32" but then, i only had to wait 3 days for them They get very noisy past 70mph seem to handle ok on wet tarmac too
  22. Agreed, i've used platic cable tie mounts, riveted to the chassis rails every 8" or so, and then cable tie the wires to the mounts.
  23. B) I like the sound of that Perhaps a range of standard length, +1", +2" with softer, standard and heavier poundages in the 3 lenghts should do most applications ?
  24. It's a custom made heavy duty winch bumper
  25. I've got two which i keep under the false floor in the tub
