  1. I've got the v8 fifth gear fitted to my r380 in my tdi 130 which has a higher ratio than than mt82. Also have a 1.2 transfer box fitted so makes a great cruiser and never found it a problem when towing.
  2. So I went and sorted it this morning. First thing I did was try and blow down the line from the tank. I couldn't blow down it at first and then with a pop it cleared. So there must be something floating around in my tank that blocked it. I fitted the new Delphi lift pump I picked up yesterday while I had the pipes off. Thanks for your input.
  3. I will have a good look later, I'm currently moving house I did notice that the fixed infeed pipe in the lift pump could be turned so it could have been sucking air in.
  4. Never met Drew, but I have had a look around there current premises, he's come a long way from the stone shed on the farm. He will be truly missed.
  5. I have thought that. It's a new tank so shouldn't be any crud in there. The manual pump leaver on the lift pump had resistance to it then had no resistance and no fuel was coming out of it.
  6. Evening all, I've had a bit of a problem tonight and would like to hear your thoughts on the matter. So I've been doing a daily 76 mile commute in my 300tdi 130 for the last few weeks with out any problems. Tonight I did the 33 miles home with no problems, I stopped for half an hour and then went out again, didn't get a mile when it started dying on me. It would rev up and then fall then rev then fall to the point of not running. After some investigation no fuel was coming through the lift pump. With a make shift water bottle filled with diesel fuel tank I managed to get it to a safe place. So I suspect it's a knacked lift pump, do you agree with me? The only reason I'm querying it is I thought they would still run without the lift pump working.
  7. Very neat. I got fed up of trying to find bits in the dark in the back of my 130. A quick look on eBay and a 5 meter flexible led strip light was on its way for £4.90 plus postage. I have stuck it around the inside of my ifor top, it creates enough light to happily work at the back of the motor.
  8. It sounds like dim dip relay to me. Big pink relay behind gauges.
  9. The good thing about the hose pipe is that you can move it around so it's not just clearing one spot. I have thought about doing one like retroanaconder and then having it join a pipe that ran along the door card with holes in it blow air up all the window. Would need on/off for when not needed so you can rest your arm on it.
  10. My temporary solution works very well. I just remove them when it's not raining.
  11. I remembered that we're on about fitting a 606 into a range Rover. I've been looking at fitting one into my defender where a stumpy would be better.
  12. I would to do the same eventually. The only problem that has come up is that the tdi r380 bell housing is rather long which might push the engine to far forward. So a stumpy r380 might be better.
  13. Those sheets must have been very cheap to warrant 2290 mile round trip. It's good to say a older defender doing that distance. I'm not sure if I can trust my 300tdi to do 60 motorway miles and back at the moment.
