  1. Door already as far forward as hinge will allow, whilst out today I had a quick look at door latch end and too me the tongue piece appears to long wonder if it is possible to fit a stop so it is partially lifted /pulled inwards. If the weathers decent in morning will try some engineers blue to see if I can see the point of contact with the catch.
  2. I fitted electronic version from ebay awhile back works well not sure if it was from same seller as your post. Check the one you have has not come loose as it needs to be earthed , my understanding of it is it acts like a relay switching voltage off and on to give approx 10V.
  3. Have tried all sorts of adjustments , I suspect the bulkhead is too far back as when slam the door it is hitting the catch on the flatter section have already took shim out from behind catch , if I put some vaseline on catches works fine but invariably end up with it on me.Might take the grinder to catch on door to reshape.
  4. Military version of antiburst lock did not have lock arrangement , quite a lot on ebay which have a small lever on inside to lock. Have looked at doing this myself but comes out too expensive. Sick of having to slam my drivers door really hard to get it to close.
  5. Sicaflex seemed to weep on the surface and the paint which was adjacent to it bubbled and lifted. I had used the series 2 clubs plastic channel and it was recomended it did not need screws if well stuck in place, has screws in the bulk of it now.
  6. Sicaflex took the paint of my door tops and window also dropped out as I had been advised screws would not be required with it. Dum Dum for me .
  7. also found these on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-2-BSF-X-3-1-2-HEXAGON-BOLTS-PACK-OF-5-/281081423207?pt=UK_DIY_Material_Nails_Fixing_MJ&hash=item4171c22567
  8. I bought long bolts and secured wheel with a flat bar , bolts from here where not too expensive. 9. Is your 4wd disengaging correctly at gearbox.
  10. Fiddly but not to difficult only two bolts holding it on bit hot water poured slowly over body around pipe connection helps to get that out the alloy will expand , people find bleeding them difficult generally slow steady pedal stroke then quick release and repeat till no bubbles make sure bleed nipple goes in top port.
  11. They do not appear to be in parts catalogue but this should help http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Blanking-Rubber-Grommets-Qty-100-Assorted-/181085159071?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item2a29843e9f
  12. You risk damaging the injection pipes by doing it that way better off doing it static with pipes slackened .
  13. Thanks Todd will continue adding sound proofing. Doug
  14. Tuko What is the noise level at say 50MPH in your motor? I have a 200DI fitted but with the original exhaust engine pulls well but even with a fair bit of soundproofing get a 94db reading using an APP on my I phone. Curious to know if fitting larger exhaust will help to reduce my noise level to a better level. Doug
  15. Discomikey is that a piece of kingspan between the engine and bulkhead or some other sound absorbing material?
  16. Is your supply through the voltage regulator [10V] or are you giving it 12V I only ask as the resistances are significantly different.
  17. If you remove the tin cover [need to take the 4wd peg out that goes in top edge] and put release oil on ends of shaft and gently tap them against the springs they usually free up.
  18. This unit is from a range rover 300tdi and fits 200tdi engine recommended by Glencoyne engineering works ok in mine sits just below red line. Engine has 88 degree stat fitted so I do not expect it to be on the N mind some others that have fitted it say theirs sit just above the N. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-300-TDi-Temperature-sender-unit-AMR1425-/290397322219?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:GB:3160
  19. Common brake failure problem is actually hub oil seal failure allowing oil to get on the shoes best check all the drums 1st as servo will not improve contaminated brakes. Just had to do my rear offside 5 years since last renewed seal , this time have changed the land that he seal runs on and fitted Coreteco seal.
  20. Original number would have had symbols as well to prevent it being copied easily. So stamping a number on does not help to prove ID .Have toyed with stamping my Marsland invoice number on mine in a descrete location to use as proof of ownership.
  21. Oil filter housing as they fit 2.25 in place of bolt on filter. Pretty rare now.
  22. Whats the servo off? Will the vacuum pump cope with the volume required in that size diaphragm?
  23. You do not say what year or engine as parts catalogue gives three versions but only this number comes up with a stub axle. http://www.paddockspares.com/599828-stub-axle.html BY the way parts book says the same as later series SWB .
  24. Mine just has a tiny hole in that plate no oil normally in that section , have 4 gearboxes all the same.
  25. Have a look at the base of brake drums inside the wheel if one of the wheel cylinders has failed fluid will be leaking into the brake drum. Take top of master cylinder and note where the level is press brake pedal a couple of times if fluid level drops you definitely have a leak.
