  1. Hi Guys, have bought a new head for a 300tdi and am unsure which thickness gasket to go for, any thoughts?
  2. Have just fitted upgraded disco trailing arms to my 86' 2 door and can confirm in my case at least that the disco arms are thicker.
  3. Those prices sound very reasonable, will let my mate know, thanks.
  4. Hi guys, as the title suggests I need a rough guess on the price of changing a head gasket on a 300tdi disco if anyone has had this done recently, and any recommendations as to where to get it done around the south-east area? This is on behalf of a mate who has just spent 2 years converting his disco for some serious off road fun only for the head gasket to go on it's first trip out!!!! Needless to say he is gutted!
  5. For £4 it's well worth a try!!
  6. Your a star, Can I get this the wrong way round??!!!
  7. Hi guys, took my mates 300tdi for it's MOT today and it failed on the indicators going too fast!! I have recently fitted a guardian rear bumper that does NOT have the provision for the extra set of indicators so they were disconnected and left cable tied under the floor. Is there a mod to make the car think it has the rear lights so they calm down a bit??!!!
  8. Hi all, well my Rangy is now sitting up nice and high and wearing her new boots so I thought I had better turn my attention to the welding! After a good dig around I have realised that I am well out of my depths!!!! The left sill is beyond my DIY welding ability! Does anyone know or can recommend a good welder? I live near Gatwick and they would have to be mobile and come to me. I do have a mig and will have a sill repair section on it's way soon.
  9. Finally got round to fitting the rears in yesterday, the left side needed to be fully articulated to fit in, the left needed max articulation and spring compressors!! That is gonna be a firm ride for sure!!! Thanks for all your help, will probably need some more soon!!
  10. Will check the strut tomorrow as it sounds like it is not coming down enough.
  11. Yes shocks were off!! Have released everything so only boge strut holding it up now. Might have to stick a scissor jack between the chassis and the axle as there is no way it's gonna fit in there with out compressers. Bowie69, I have still may need extra spacers as am not sure it will sit level. Will know when the back is done and I can sit it squarly on the deck.
  12. Hi guys, have just finished fitting the HD rears to the front and it looks great and has a good 2" lift. Thanks all for the advice. Have just started ripping the back end apart and have managed to just release the rear springs but am wondering how the hell you get the new ones in with 2" spacers. There seems to be no extra travel in the boge strut and am now a little stuffed. I dont want to have to remove it unless I have to as am sure it will help. What have you guys done??
  13. Thats great to know, thanks guys. If it stops pi#@ing it down I might actually be able to fit the new ones on and see!!!
