  2. well i think i am being a bit ambitious but i want to make my own rock sliders. what i am after is if anyone has made their own for the D2 and has any drawings they would be willing to share, or am i wasting my time and would it be better just buying some.

    any help greatly recieved.

  3. they are made by spanset uk, description: strop, towing to drg no 5/1629

i rang them today and they said they will sell to the public but only a bulk order! so maybe a club/forum buy would be good!

the measurements are: 32cm between outer edges of staples left to right

16cm between staples top to bottom.

i have pics but am having trouble uploading them.

    clicky

  4. right had the disco up on the ramps in work just coz i was bored and needed to locate an oil leak, and noticed that there are 2 wading plugs in the bell housing. my question is should they be fitted all the time? i know on other models you are supposed to remove them when no wading, but there is no mention of them in the manual.

    cheers

  5. right been offered a set of these p38 wheels, for free, has anyone got a set fitted to a disco 2 with a pic so i can see what they look like?

SWMBO said they are disgusting but might have them anyway. looks are not a factor in my books, but comfort is

my thinking is to get them a put some 255/70 r16 at's on for a bit of greenlaning and also save on buying tyres for the 18's i have now!

    so any help greatly recieved

  6. the way i check for play in the a-frame is with the vehicle on the ground get someone to rock the wheels at 3 and 9 o'clock as if you are checking wheel - bearing play, this will show play in the a-frame, also with the handbrake applied rock vehicle back and forth while laying under neath and you should she any movement present and this will also show play in the link arms too.

    hth.
