  1. Hey, Today i fitted new captive nuts to my bulkhead so as to fit my new doors and hinges, using new stainless steel bolts. The problem is that the new bolts go on possibly half way through the captive nuts before being stuck/needing alot of pressure to turn. This has cause one bolt to in effect shear the captive nut so it it now cavitates. Surely there is a simple way to tighten down the door hinges to the bulkhead?? Many thanks Ben

  11. I am in the process of spraying car parts in cellulose paint. My tools of choice is currently a 2.5hp compressor with a 25 litre air tank which does the job okay as it only needs to do a panel at a time. Because i am going to be doing a fair bit of spraying i am looking at getting a better gun, but then i read about HVLP compressors and guns. In your opinions is a decent gun and better compressor more use or would a HVLP system do better? Axminster have this Apollo Ap400 which seems good value but would it make a significant difference to my existing set up?

  13. I have bought a pair of lift up handle doors that are going to replace by nackered push button doors from my 90. Can i simply swap over the door runners and most of the mechanisms or will parts need to be bought? I obviously need to buy new window sill seals for the new doors as they are bare? but somewhere along the line the glass thickness changed so presumably the seal size changed? Thanks for any input ben
  14. saturday was a great day out. dont think the car would have survived a second day. think i will get tony to taxi me round from now on. i have bent up my sills and am going to get rock sliders, should i get standard ones or have combined tree sliders which might not be effective as i am fitting a hardtop?

  22. I had been driving with a set of 235/70 amazon mud tyres on disco steels on my 90 for about 6 months or so and have had no problems but i have noticed that on full lock the drivers side wheel rubs on the front radius arm a fair bit as the radius arm is bear metal there, but on the other passenger side it has rubbed but not half as much as the drivers side. the car has straight tracking and all. but just wondering why it is rubbing now, and why rub with such small tyres? is it a question of buying spacers?
