Basicly you go and sign on for the weeks you are laid off......... also you can claim 5 days money of £20.18? per day.... but you can only claim for 5 days in a 12 week period. The annoying thing for me is that we have a plant in Redditch on i think 80% lay off pay and Ellesmere Port on 100% because the union put it in their pay deal........ us 0% Dohhhhh!

ive been layed off without pay for a while now, we make the Disco, RRS and Freelander seats..... probably been well over a month since weve made any. but it seems the same for all our customers, toyota and volvo........ when we do/if go back it'll be a short week situation.

are the thermostats different?

runs really well now.............. only the temp gauge only runs at just under 1/4 on the gauge now, would sit at half way all day when it was on carbs. dont think there is an air lock, bottom rad hose is cooler than the top one, and the temp sender was swap when the EFI went on. so should an EFI engine run cooler? i wouldnt have thought so.......

Right then, a friend has just spent 2 days removing the carbs etc off my 3.5 V8 and fitting it with EFI. We have 2 complete EFI kits both bought as good running systems....... basicly it wont run now, and as he has no internet he's sent a txt of the issues. Fitted EFI. Turn the key and it will run for a few seconds then stop and wont pick up. Touch the throttle and it will stop. Tried known working air flow meters, ECUs and relays.... no change. Tested for fuel and its there. The RR has got an EFI fuel pump fitted. Any ideas where to start please??

dont need arches............ mine ran with 235s on with no real issues ...... just need to nibble the rear lips.

looks like a pain to get to in the haynes manual.......... brake resevior has to be removed and loads more other stuff just to reach it. is the blowing on full likely to pack in as well?

The heater blower in the partners car is only blowing on max(5 ithink) ......... is this something to do with the heater blower control module do you think..... just before i brave the scrap yards tomorrow. its a renault megane if that helps.

just buy some synthetic paint 3lts and a faom roller........... and 2hrs of time......... job done

i have just 1" lift and cut the arches, but the tyres still catch badly on the rear when off road. just wish the new springs would turn up!.....

Has anyone got one of these sat navs?, just looking at memory map options, either PDA, toughbook or sat nav unit. it will only be used for laning duties...... any ideas which is the best way to go.

i dont suppose anyone has a rear +2" range/disco spring off their vehicle......... and could measure it for me? just tryin to work things out......... the police spec ones ive just removed are 408mm apprrox, but i dont know if they have lost their bounceyness .... so to speak. thanks Graham

my bushes are all brand new poly bushes.......... i think i'll order new +2" HDs it needs all the help it can get the the big tyres ive fitted.

when i bought my classic, the vehicle hand just had a set of new police spec springs from paddocks fitted. i had the intention of fitting +2" HD springs to it but the previous owner said that the police springs were about "2 taller than the standards he removed..... so i just fitted my OME shocks. to be honest im not happy with the handling on these springs, very wallowy etc. just wondering if anyone has thoughts on these spring before i order replacements?

just fit narrower tyres for the MOT.........thats what i do
