  1. sorry but i am with mike on this i smashed my series last year and at 25 mph it hurt best to not compomise on your life
  2. its worth having a good poke about at the chasis after all underseal is a bad welders best friend
  3. count me in aswell and one or two more forum useres when i tell them would be nice to put faces to names lol
  4. before you jump to a desision think very hard about what you want and how you drive your car if u do a lot of motorway miles or like to drive fast then i would go for a 2 inch with heavy duty springs as you can still run anti roll bars however if u want to go the whole hog and have an off road best then go 3 inch but you will notice your stering will alter slightly i no 5 discos running 3 inch lifts without cranked castor arms and trailing arms perfectly well i alsi no one with a 4 inch lift the main prob seems to be the steering will not self center also you will have to check your bushes more often to give you some idea of what you can do with a 2 inch lift mine just crused round the extrem course at eastnor with no probs and as to just wanting it to look a beast lol attak the wheel arches with an angle grinder this will also stop tyres hitting them regards old leafer ps if you tow think about the new ride angle of your trailor or caravan pps and as you have seen suspention is very much a matter of personal choice you will strugle to get any two of us to agree whole hartedly on the subject lol
  5. get wash it drop the wheels of and have a look it might be somthing simple like a tyre rubbing on mud or somthing you have picked up have a good look at the stearing arms if not as a very slight bend will make it rub aswell
  6. did it sunday it was not that bad all six cleard in discos did have to pull a 90 out tho hehehehehehehe mind you it is our local mud even tho we not alowed on the tracks to be honist there are harder green lanes if you look hard enuff p.s you cant beat the sound of a misfire on a wet v8
  7. ok the camping fields are drying out for the show weather has been good but this is still plenty of mud you can play in regareds old leafer
  8. i will be in eastnor this week with work i will post how mudy it is as to getting lost its easy to find j7 of the m5 follow signs to malvern over the hills as you drop down turn left at the sing ooooohhhhhhh and the malverns look very tempting to play on but its not woth the fine if you get caught and they may try to empound your truck (not that i would ever do somthing to find that out you understand)
  9. looks in back garden few its still there i thort you had mine for a min then
  10. lol i avarage 350 liters a day on one truck can u get a tanker load there is a comon missunderstanding about veg oil if you could get every farmer in the uk to grow fields full of the stuff it would not cover what we use let alone have room for the food we need to eat as for fillterd oil there are many quality isuses with it and if your car was your living would you take a risk of breaking down
  11. its the same story world over there is not another country in the world pays what we do and if u work it in to pounds not dollers it would make you sick mind you mr brown is rubbing his hands together and looking at the balance sheet a minister said today if we cut fuel duty what services would you want cut i think i could find a few lol if i had my way and it seems harsh i would get every car van truck motor bike bus and train to park up just for 24 hours then mr brown would see just how fast the house of cards would fall
  12. our trucks was on the last fuel protest in 2000 you will find it hard to get any one to goin forces on this and there are a few reasons A/ last time we was thretend that if we didnt move the army would move us (and they say its a free country not a police state B/ while we were parked up blockading the continental trucks were sniffing round our customers and running on cheep derv of the continent C/ and this is worst of all as a country we never seem to agree on anything while we have politicions who seem more intrested in fighting wars that the rest of the world have no intrest in and tree hugers spend there lifes huging trees and saying what evil people we are for killing the planet we are doomed
  13. me thinks hes going to need a better winch its hard to help when your laffing
  14. hi mark it all depends on what you want your series to do for normal shoot driving standerd springs will be fine parabolics are smother tho and make travling across fields more comfy as for breaks most bits you will find in your local car spares place all tho they may have to order paddocks m&ms and places like that i find prity good all tho unless your local there is the wait for the parts well the waiting in for the post man is the main pain ooooohhhhhhh and when you have done your breaks you will realise they are usless lol you get used to them tho regards mark
  15. you wouldnt want to drop it on your toe thats for sure but non better than ashcrofts but if u ask nice there may be somone local willing to give you a hand i would offer but its a bit of a drive from here good luck anyway
  16. thanx les i will give it a go nothing to lose and as to the debate about new or recon i do high miles and with such an important part as steering i would never take chance an out of control disco would make a real mess at 90 eeerrrrr i mean 70 on the motorway after all recon is a broken part been made good (hopefuly) i no mine is good just weeping fron the top gasket
  17. well it works out cheeper than plasters and is good enuf for me at work no point in spoling them lol
  18. gaffer tape is what i used after the said impact your choice if you do the door or child tho it may seem a bodge way but the little darlings grow so fast soon they will be banging there heads on somthing els
  19. ok this is a tech question is it posable to remove the top of a stearing box and change the gasket if so any one got any idea what i will find when i take the top off fingers crossed as i dont want to pay the 270 pounds for a new one
