  1. Hi all Looking like i may be selling my truck so need some thoughts as to what its worth in the real world 2000 X reg Disco 2 4.0V8 ES, 6800 on the clock 11 months MOT. was wifes/family car up to last summer when it became mine and i converted it to on/off road spec, cars been owned by us for years (second owners from new) and only been off road at Biling last year and a weekend at Yarwell.. all following parts are new and only have about 300 miles on them . genuine Safari snorkel custom side exit exhaust with oval D44 finishing plate Performance disc's and green stuff pads Braided extended brake lines lifted shocks and springs Recipe trial tyres x5 Radiator Engine runs like a dream and has never been a problem with it other than needed a new rad last year, interior is standard apart from a new stereo with ipod connection, leather if very nice no rips and is lightstone. bodywork is very nice no rust or dents, front valance has some damage around spot light were some one backed in to me was intending to remove and fit winch bumper. dosent spoil the overall look of the car and wont look out of place on the driveway at home etc so whats it worth in todays market.. 2. cheers for the replys chaps
  3. Fair to say that 110 is loaded up lol what I'm after us the best way to fix the bikes to the rack, bungees?
  4. Thanks for the replys, the paddock one is two parts the bit sticking out past the wheel removes in seconds just held on with a pin or padlock to a plate on the other side of the wheel and joins through the centre cap hole
  5. anyone use one of these, interested to know how you secure the bikes to it? http://www.paddockspares.com/bike-rack-for-discovery-2.html
  6. i have found in my vast non medical experience that shoving my slashed body parts in a bag of cement dust stops bleeding pretty well, sets nice and hard too... try this at your own risks though lol
  7. Thanks mate, that looks like them.. cheers
  8. need to replace one of the solid ABS pipes on my year 2000 D2 V8, its the pipe that connects to the front passenger side brake hose. anyone have a part number for it? cheers
  9. ok found the answer to the extra breather its from the EVAP canister, part of the emission controls on the V8...
  10. cheers Les thats what i thought just dont no what the 3rd one is by the gear/trans boxes, but it dosent seem to go any were just sat there not connected in the cable clip with the other 2.. maybe it was put in by mistake knowing Land Rover tolerances lol
  11. Hi all just extending my breathers on my D2 V8, have sorted both axles no problem and have found what i think are the gear and trans pipes. coming from back of the engine were the plug leads go down theres 3 black pipes that run down to the boxes. on tracing them as far as i can, 2 seem to go up above the boxes but cant feel or see were they ended up but the 3rd pipe isnt connected to anything?. i managed to pull one of them out from behind the engine and its defo a breather as is hooked over at the end but cant get the other 2 out. so can anyone tell me if two of 3 pipes are the breathers for the boxes? and whats the 3rd pipe thats not connected to anything under the car? what i need to do is cut the two correct pipes and join them and extended them up through the snorkel, i wasnt expecting a 3rd pipe and finding it isnt connected to anything under the car makes me think its come off some where....
  12. i no they have been checked but does sound like air springs, mine did the same thing. would go days with no problem then all of a sudden go down, there was a small hole that sometimes would seal its self depending on the position of the spring as it rolled up/down sometimes covering the hole if your get my drift... i fitted the coil conversion and all air spring related problems are a thing of the past...
  13. was at my mates workshop today and had My D2 reversed up on ramps with me underneath removing the side steps when Bang some muppet drives into the front of it!! the car rocked back and just managed to stay on the ramps. talk about life flashing in front my your eyes, anyway i crawl out in whats fair to say not in a happy mood, turns out he was reversing backwards and didnt see the huge great red disco 2 i wasnt on the road but in the front of my mates workshop so said muppet shouldnt have been anywere near me. i may have suggested he reminded me of a certain part of a ladys body Now every cloud has a silver lining, the only damage was to the front bumper and valence, im currently starting to mod the Disco and was about to order a winch bumper and steering guard next week, there was already some damage to the same area due to a carpark crunch and run but he never new that. so he says to me he dosent want to go through the insurance what do i want, i say £300 he then pulls out the cash and gives it to me there and then turns out he was there to view/buy a car from a trader on the same site and that was his deposit.. guess what im ordering now
  14. i prefer it now, always found the old one a bit tricky...
  15. thats looks great mate is it lifted, did the tyres go on ok any rubbing etc?
  16. Thanks for the replys, sounds like the Recip trial is a good buy then at about £95 a corner. Not worried about noise as the Disco isn't an every day car, tempted to put an order in just need to find a supplier with some instock?
  17. looking to buy some mud tyres for my D2 V8 that im about to start modifying, the price of the Recipe trial and other retreads is very appealing but are there any things i should be aware of with a retread especially putting them on a fairly powerful car. are there speed ratings etc as dont fancy a run in with plod or my insurance being void etc or worse having them fail on me.. I guess im asking if mud terrain retreads are (A) safe and (B) road legal? cheers
  18. thinking of fitting a set of 16's to my Disco 2 with some mud tyres, anyone running the same. would like to see a picture as never seen a D2 with them fitted or even a D1 cant decide on black or silver on this Disco, also fitting +2 lift, winch, sliders etc etc DSC_8332 by harrylessman, on Flickr
  19. Thats a shame as i was hoping to switch from flux to them. every time i speak to flux it seems to end with them wanting to charge me a £25 admin fee. recently sold my 90 and wanted to change the policy to my Disco, was told current insurer wouldnt take the Disco so had to change insurers. they wanted to charge me a £25 admin for canceling the 90's policy and a further £25 admin for the new disco policy. i wouldnt mind but ive spent thousands with flux over the years on landys and Bikes and never claimed a penny. no customer loyalty with them what so ever...
  20. when getting a online quote from the Pickles website it comes up as Adrian flux?
  21. what about Cooper STT, ive herd people say good things about them. i had crawlers on my old 90, they are a good tyre but can get interesting on road in the wet, also can be hard to balance. mine needed a ton of lead on the back but were good as gold once sorted...
  22. yeah im close by mate just nr Lakeside, i did think long and hard about it selling and there were other reasons why i decided to sell my 90 so have no regrets at all. i was lucky as sold the 90 within 2 days of being up for sale and for a very good price (it is a great truck). i bought the wife a 54 plate Saab 93 Aero convertible with the money and i now have her D2 V8 ES as my toy which im going to be modding soon, along the lines of a G4..
  23. Its a bit of a no win situation unless your willing to pay £100 every time you go in the zone or cough up 2-3k for a filter and thats if you can find someone to fit it. i live just on the edge of the M25 and my modified tdi 90 was non compliant, it meant for me i was going to be very limited on were i could drive my truck with LEZ cameras now poping up within a few miles of my house. as much as i loved my 90 and had put my heart and soul into building her in the end it was one of the main reasons i decided to sell it a month ago, i now smoke about in a 4ltr V8 Disco thats compliant i can see there being a lot of non compliant Landys being put up for sale in the coming months, and unless a buyer comes from well outside London i can see there prices hitting the floor and being very hard to sell:angry:
  24. found it, Kinver Sand...
