  1. B*gg*r that'll teach me to be working instead of monitoring the forum
  2. I will be up for this as well. Any date is suitable but I would prefer to avoid panel damage. Rgds Ivan
  3. I'll have some too. Let me know the details and we can sort it out. Cheers Ivan
  4. Sorry guys but forgot to take a picture last night. As you can see in the pictures (hopefully) my seal actually has 2 seals IYSWIM. Rgds Ivan
  5. Err I thought this was normal as my Discovery does it all the time. Ivan
  6. Actually I think you will find that the speedo on a 300 Series is electronic. When I fitted the 300 body to my 200 Series chassis and running gear I had to get a speedo transducer for it. You will find that, in the wet, the speedo can sometimes fail due to the connections getting wet. The transducer is just a plug on the back og the transfer box where the speedo cable would normally go and has 2 wires coming from it. The transducer can also get messy inside. They are quite easy to take apart and clean. HTH Ivan
  7. I'll take a picture tonight. I brought the seal from a 4x4 place in Melbourne. Unfortunately I can't remember the name. I am sure they said it was a part available from Land Rover Oz. If anyone on here from Melbourne can help with the name I am sure they were in the Dandenong area. They also used to rent spare parts, roofracks etc for trips. I rented my roofrack off them and ended up buying it when I got back from my trip. Rgds Ivan
  8. Orange Not sure about over here but, in Oz, you could buy a double thickness seal. It was introduced to keep the bulldust out. I have one fitted to my Discovery and it really does work. The people I brought it off just called it a "double bubble". HTH Ivan
  9. Does your Discovery have dual indicators at the rear (i.e. in the rear wings as well as the bumper) ? If so this is what is causing the trailer light to flash. I have exactly the same on my Discovery which is caused by extra indicators in the bull bar. I think there is a heavy duty relay to take into account the extra indicators. Ivan
  10. Looking at his signature I'd say he was from Oz.
  11. Try Googling for emmegas. You could always try these . There are also links to the manufacturer here . You could always contact the manufacturer and ask for a local agent. HTH Ivan
  12. Kit is available from here. Cheaper than Craddocks. Also look at this link. HTH Ivan
  13. I think you need to speak to Mr Warn on here for his opinion on Zeus gears Ivan
  14. Have to agree with nas90 here. My 90 skidded on a roundabout due to spilt deisel. Ended up in the drainage ditch. Got the car rebuilt with the insurance money but still lost my no claims. Ivan
  15. As Diff said, I have a mate who has G90's fitted to his car and he is very careful in the wet on tarmac. Personally I wouldn't fit G90's. They were designed for the Army who genrally don't run around at great speed. HTH Ivan
  16. Kevin I had similar problems when I fitted a 300Tdi to my 2.5TD. In the end I just bought a new guage and matched sender from Racetech. I tried a number of different senders and none of them worked. HTH Ivan
  17. Got mine too. Thanks for the effort. Ivan
  18. From what little I know (told to me by a LR mechanic) all they do is fit a one way valve into the fuel supply to the FIP. This stops the fuel running back into the tank. HTH Ivan
  19. All I can say is my roof rack has been fitted to my Discover for about 8 years. It's never cracked or been damaged. All the Aussie roof racks are basically the same as mine (even for Defenders). I have seen other roof racks which use separate mounting legs crack on severe corrugations. If you want a good roof rack look at what the Aussies use. Their's are built to withstand the toughest terrain. Ivan
  20. If you are going to get a roof rack look for one with steel/aluminium down the sides (IYSWIM). This spreads the load all along the guttering. I have an Australian Tradesman roof roack and have used on loads of expeditions and it's not broke yet. I don't sleep on it because we don't like roof tents. However I have had 2 people standing on top watching events before. HTH Ivan
  21. Do what I did and drive there. It's about a 2 day journey. Unless your QS doesn't have a 4x4 ? Ivan
  22. As it says above. I have a clunk coming from the rear of the 90 when cornering. I have changed all of the suspension bushes and the A frame ball joint, except for the bushes where the A frame mounts to the chasis. So this is a last attempt to stop the clunking. Ivan
  23. Problem with shingles is that they will let in water when the car is in reverse and it's raining. Ivan
  24. I have mixed feelings about them. Ordered a set of NAS lights and a year later the lamp holders in the rear ones had corrded. Complained to Paddocks and they sent me a set of new ones at no cost. Recently ordered a set of rear trailing arm bushes and they failed within 6 months. Didn't go back to them just went ot local LR dealer and ordered genuine ones. Ivan
