  1. hi, mine cost £65 to send via courier and came off a 2005 model. Any car repair garage will weld it for you, and to remove the bumper would take 20 minutes. andy
  2. It may be cheaper and easier to buy a bulkhead off ebay (td5 one on now for £80), especially has you don't weld. if the footwells have gone you can bet the top corners are on the way. I've never seen a front crossmember for sale anywhere, is it really bad? if the damage is accessible after the engines refitted you could drive it to the nearest welders for repair, even if you have to remove the bumper/grill etc before they do the work. andy
  3. Hi chaps, I'm fitting one to my 110 v8. The tank is out of a 300tdi RTO model and came off ebay with all the pipes, fuel lines and filler neck assembly. The tank is also fitted to the td5 but mine doesn't have the pump just the sender, i've fitted a 300tdi so i have the lift pump. To fit you'll need to make a couple of brackets and weld to the rear crossmember, then drill a couple of holes in the crossmember forward of the tank, then you can fit the cradle that supports the tank. the wiring is just for the sender to fuel guage so pretty straight forward. With this tank fitted you can't attach the anti roll bar to the original mounts so i removed mine, you could make new mounts but it's not a requirement just an option. This tanks deeper than the v8 or UK 300tdi. I haven't connected it up yet but the pipes are the rubber ones and come with push connectors. It should last longer than the chassis supporting it. I hope this helps you.
  4. Hi chaps, Can i use my old 110 v8 lt85 gearbox mounts on a disco autobox, i've swapped the cross member for 300tdi one but the bolt pattern is different for the mounts. the 300tdi and auto are going in a 110. thanks
  5. Thanks for the replys, i'll look for a defender one then. cheers
  6. Hi all, I'm putting a 300tdi auto from a disco into my 110 v8, can i use the disco gearbox x-member in my defender or do i need a specific one for the defender? cheers
  7. cheers Western, thats the bugger. Now i just need to find out what my V8 wires are, i think the V8 has 3 wires, TD5 has four maybe the V8 just needs an earth?
  8. Ok yes, i didn't know the earlier 300tdi had the same connector. I have found out since posting this that it's a TD5 sender unit fitted into a RTW 300tdi and it's the same as the freelander rear bumper light connector. I still need one though and the pin info, so i can splice it onto my loom.
  9. Hi all, I'm after a rear section wiring loom for a defender 110 300tdi (plastic fuel tank model), i can't seem to locate one with the correct fuel pump connector. The whole loom or just the short piece to the tank is all i need. I'm putting one of these plastic tanks in my old V8 ready for my engine transplant. Can anyone help me?
  10. Hi all, Does anyone know if the 300tdi gearbox cross member is the same as the TD5 one? They look the same, are they!
  11. Hi chaps, I wonder if one of you can help me i've bought a NTO plastic fuel tank out of a 300tdi defender and want to fit it into my 1986 V8 110 chassis, has anyone done this mod before and if so how did you do the new mounting brackets? Any help appreciated. thanks
  12. sorry to jump into your thread but what else could you use on a V8? I only ask as i've had some replacement V8 110 lines on back order for 5 weeks now and no delivery date as yet.
  13. I was about to order some NAS lights from boltonbits, but after reading about the Wipac ones i don't think i'll be going for them. I had a look on the Dun-Bri website, but does anyone know the correct part numbers for there lights as they aren't the same as listed above.
  14. I looked into it, but it isn't worth doing. The quality/age of the sat nav makes putting in a newer alpine or other quality brand touch screen control unit much more appealing( you get tv, sat nav, audio , ipod, etc). You have to add the wiring harness and antennae for the oem unit anyway so you may as well do a good install. let us know how you get on.
  15. I would get them powder coated if you're going to the trouble of getting them blasted.
