  1. I would avise checking the turbo linkage isn't seized, also the little module that controls the vacum going to the turbo can become faulty however they are so cheap. If its seized it could cause it to over boost causing the noise and putting it in limp mode, if it was the module I wouldn't expect the noise but it could still happen.
  2. That the fuel pump pipe, that is where the pump and filter live unlike the later vehicles where it is in the rear wheel arch, chances are the jubilee clip has just come loose over time it should be fine.
  3. My advice would be to have it taken to a specialist with land rovers diagnostic system, the computer Will be able to show low fuel pressure readings and fuel compensation for each cylinder, thus tracking the problem to the individual cylinder/injector that is faulty, if it is a faults with injectors of course. It would be a wise idea to change/check the low pressure pump and filter, also the injector wiring could also be at fault there is a repair kit available for it.
  4. I have fitted a couple of the stainless wire kits, when fitting it make sure the plastic cog that the cable runs on isn't chewed up as this is what caused the kit to fail on mine, I much prefer the idea of the stainless wire as the only reason the units fail is the original wires corrode either snapping or stands snapping and jamming in the sleeving.
  5. I'm attempting to fit a CD changer to my 02 freelander, I've bought an alpine changer unit and a lead, the lead fits the original stereo and the changer works, however this head unit does not work with The steering wheel controls I retrofitted, I have a head unit from a 2003 freelander which works with the steering controls but has a ISO connector on the back so I'm unsure of where to plug the changer in, has anyone got the head unit xqe000160pma with a CD changer fitted? Many thanks Edward.
