  1. Even with alot of encouragment, they couldn't make it fit.
  2. I can clearly remember three synthetic ropes breaking near me (seen a few others but not near me and not getting my undivided attention!) two of them fell straight to the floor and one recoiled all the way to the hook about 40ft away from the winch where it broke! The sail, in this case, was at the hook end and did no good at all. It may have done some good if it was in the middle of the rope! But the rope could've broken anywhere along its length! There are so many variables, it is not easy to say if a sail would help or not. Each case is different. I do think Wire rope should be banned in UK comps tho. Some people spend more on comfy seats than they do on a descent synthetic rope!
  3. Yeh, i spoke to Agostinho about it and he said the same. Lets hope they change.
  4. On more than one occasion and not just one team, co-drivers would grab hold of the winch cable (wire!) when the driver was winching in under heavy load and rock the cable away and towards themselves. This was done on straight and snatch block pulls.
  5. Necks not very good mate, my shirt collar rubbed it a bit too much yesterday and it started to bleed! Thats one thing i would love them to change next year. No touching of live winch cables! It was madness what they were doing and they were gaining very little out of it, for the risks they were taking.
  6. A fantastic bit of translation work!!!!!! Agostinho you are a star mate. We all appreciate your help and look forward to next year.
