Watch it, he's probably done it already.

It’s been done, I have a photo somewhere😂 due to the modular construction of the 404s it was a beautifully simple conversion and seemed to work well!

nah he has a v8 to put into it first😂

    I like the thought process.........

However there is nothing on a mog rim I can use, wrong bolt pattern 20" rim

     Regards Stephen

You’ll be able to use the centres to get the positive offset and also caliper clearance then convert the pcd for the hub again no?

  3. I know it’s more work but I do have some 404 wheels you can have if you want to do a similar thing to what you did before. They’re just sitting outside so would rather they get some use if it helps

EDIT: looks like you could cut the centres out and weld them Straight to the 17s

well !!! If he had had a 5yr mog axle work out he would be stronger now wouldn't he....

Pretty sure my chihuahua's could manage a landrover axle........... Or a wee bolt..........lol

    Regards Stephen

….did you lift the pin though? Everytime I have to change one on site I consider quitting, and to be fair, Ross has arms Like mister tickle and leverage works both ways 😂

for context, this is where it goes

I do give myself some work............

Had a quick measure up this morning, it there present form the treps and rims are going to stick out 6" either side, increasing my carefully fabricated width by  12" in total. ........that will not do.....

Tyres are going to have to come off and wheel centres removed and repositioned, I don't think I will get these as inboard as previous ones, however that doesn't really matter as they will be for off road use only do the cheeky/ taking the p%%s scale will not be required

    Regards Stephen

    We require pictures.

This information is useless with out pictures😂

  6. Just to update everyone. Stephen is safely in the south and on his way to collect tyres. Had a chat, half shafts handed over and had a discussion about the dirty active speed cameras around the m25.

was a pleasure to meet you mate, safe journey and lift with your knees when you take the pin out of the van….@landroversforever will vouch for that 😂

@dangerous doug Shout if another lunchtime meetup helps get the shafts any closer to Stephen's route south :). Assuming a long side shaft is still small enough for a mini boot? :D

That tower bolt filled it up, you think that mog shafts will fit?😂

@Stellaghost when you coming down? I’ll probably be able to meet you along the line somewhere as I dare say you’ll be hitting the m1/a1/m11 and then the m25 at some point on your journey and I can cover all of those in a day. I’ll be able to give you the difflock lever aswell for you to copy.

What length do you want the splines cut, mog are 67mm and the landrover are 37mm, I think the mog axles allow the splines to slide a wee bit especially in the front

anyway set up in the mill ready to start cutting

This is where the speed of your work is a downside for the rest of us😂 honestly not sure on how long they need to be yet as I’ve not got that far. As you say they do slide so if they can be made as long as possibly then I can potentially trim The shaft down if needs be.

Just to add, I genuinely struggled carrying it from the car to the office

Don’t be such a pansy, there’s 8 of those ones in each section upto 42m! 😂

According to the web tread depth is 16mm and the centre can be re-cut to a depth of 10mm

    Regards Stephen

That would be correct. Measured for you today….

doesnt even register on the tyre gauge

and where I got confused, side lugs are massive
