1995 300 TDi wiring diagram
dangerous doug replied to Roosterrs's topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
Literally the first thing on Google http://duud.ee/LR-manualid/300Tdi_Wiring_Diagrams.pdf First -
si can apply the pressure and hold it there on the ram. You would be able to do the same with the lever if someone else levelled out the tube
-
I polished the end of the bolt which works ok but I think a piece of steel formed around the tube would be a bit better

Another vote for the jd2 but if your spending that sort of money have a look at the model 32 and seriously consider the hydro conversions. I set mine up with a big ram but when all was said and done it took up too much space so I splashed out and bought the power team ram and hydro adapter for it. You dont need the ram as it's quite costly but you can buy the adapter and have a thread cut into a normal ram which returns on external springs. The ratchet mechanism is good but the bender needs bolting to the floor in a very open space (especially for big hoops) and a fair amount of muscle to get it moving. This guy is either bending old deckchairs or he's the hulk in disguise

V8 Plenum Throttle Assembly
dangerous doug replied to need4speed's topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
The AFM for MS is just a temp sensor. You could make it all out of stainless sections and weld the boss in where ever you want. Edit: I think I can see your problem, are you using a short bellhousing? Because it looks like the one in the bottom pic is using a long one giving more room between the bulkhead and plenum -
If your converting to Thor, save your self a headache and a bit of work and get the rocker covers with it. Niges kit is spot on. I felt the FPR bracket needed turning around but that was personal preference and aside from that evereything bolted on a fit perfectly. On the face of it it's a lot of money but during the install and the long run you won't regret it. 3.9 serp, Thor top end and Niges kit.

Hoss, it's a big expense, especially if your only going to use it now and then. Have you thought about buying bend-tec software, drawing it all up on the computer and sending the drawings to someone who can manipulate tube?

After my last (similar)dealings with island 4x4 I can safely say I would rather use scorpion racing under their old management than island4x4

I have also fitted this loom, of course about 2 weeks before the "headlight loom group buy" thread was started in the for sale section. Your right, they are not as straight forward to fit as they claim but What a difference! Using standard "dirty" defender headlights with osram night breaker bulbs. Only thing now is I think I have to sort my sidelights...

Axle Options

If you buy a Salisbury front make sure you get the panhard rod, track rod and drag link, lt230 front output flange and propshaft. They also use the narrower radius arms If you don't get all of that with it it will cost you later to the point where it's not worth it....... Don't ask how I know. The CVs are also standard 10 spline -
I had a plastic/Ali one on my 110 for 10 mins and it started leaking. Utter trash It was ****part though.....
-
Just bought an r-tech one. I think a grinder has cost more in the long run replacing disks Than the initial cost of the plasma. And I'm not factoring in time there either! They are brilliant and the only regret I have was that I diddnt get one sooner!

Long ago we were talking about something similar, have a clevis type affair as a hinge for a triangle door and have one of these as the latch with a pair of pins in it. Thinking was it wasn't going to burst open and if it did take a tumble it would distort with the rest of the frame. Never going to be as strong as a tube, but an idea?
-
What he said, but I don't get burnt twice!

I know it's a bit over budget and not the best but I got a fluke T5 meter , auto ranging, 5 settings and a little amp meter for about £100 which came with a power detecting pen thing(that I hardly use) Although your budget is 1/3 of that I would say have a look at least. It's been in the outside pocket of my tool bag for about 4 years now. dragged up tower cranes in all weathers(inc hard rain) taken an oil bath and dropped from around 15m up........still works fine, tested it against other meters to check. The leads are still in one piece and the probes have interchangeable tips. It's seen me through AC hoist and crane controle panels and through my Megasquirt build and was worth everey penny!

Should answer a few of your questions. If you keep the transfer box in the same place you won't need to change the props. Gearbox is specific to the engine so you need a v8 r380 or auto box. my build thread from 200tdi to 3.9. Should answer a few questions you have. http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=93802&page=1 -
Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help put a lid on this can of worms I have opened. I have put vented disks on a non vented axle, fitted the callipers today, the N/S disk didn't sit central in one and would barely take the pad. The O/S sat perfectly however I now cannot turn the hub as it fouls on the caliper. The hubs seem to be slightly different to that of my old axle which had vented disks from the factory. The flanges on the old axle are a lot thinner and there is less material behind the wheel studs on the flange, which is what's causing the clearance issue. The callipers were new out of the box today and were from bearmach. The disks are also new but I forget the origin. New pads and pins. Any ideas? It's clearly going wrong somewhere but I don't know where as I've never come across these thicker drive flanges/hubs before Apologies for the bad photos....I was losing light That's how much room I have

Ordered one yesterday mate, thanks for the offer though. Do you happen to know the I/D of the hole though?
