  1. I know its the correct code as i used it straight away as soon as the dealers gave it to me back in Feb,and the radio has been working for 6 months until the battery went flat,

i entered 1211 and the real code was 2411 dunno why i had thsat number in my mind as the right one but i was wrong,

anyway, the good news is, i did the key to aux position thing and the security message changed to radio code in just over an hour, correct code all entered and i now hear music instead of wife's nagging!

Many thanks for the prompt replies and excellent advice,

    cheers

    Chris.

Just disconnect the battery again leave it overnight, it will reset itself so you can enter the code correctly this time.

  2. Most probably it's the in-line 10A fuse for the air recirculation solenoid.

Thanks, nothing amazes me, one would have thought the fuse box is where fuses shoul be, not hidden in every nook and cranny, then again to run the extra 4 ft of wire would cost LR millions over the production run. LOL

  3. On the left hand side Australian spec 96 Disco at the base of the blower motor behind the glove box compartment, there are 2 wires that fit into a plug and there is the wording "cooling 10 amp" on it. what is this a fuse for the aircon or something.??????

  4. I don't know if its the same as the 96 disco, but disconnect the battery first for about 15 mins then try the sychning of the fob by pressing it 4 times, if the same as the 96 then the hazards will flash 3 times and the doors will lock

  5. Is this for your 300tdi?

If so, I would say possibly the ECU behind the glove box. I had similar intermittent problems, as well as the rear windows not going down, and when I changed the ECU, all was well...except for the door alarm which is still intermittent and now probably down to an earth problem on the switch. I've tried removing the switch but the self tapping screw is knackered and will not undo! Don't know if this happens with all of them, but the rear wash/wipe does not work when the driver's door is open.

I had a fault on my Disco where the key in ignition chime did not work. Check your rear Brake or tail light bulbs, Right hand side If I remember correctly.

If it's blown then that could be your answer as they are on the same circuit.

The rear windows are caused by a dry solder joints on the ECU board, it's an easy fix, pull the ECU board out and you should see probably 3 dry solder joints, its a very common fault!. Just hit them with a solder iron tip and re insert it back into the ECU case. No need to buy a new one.

  7. Hi cipx2

This fix was great, carried it out to the letter and it works brilliantly.

    Thanks for the 5x info.

    trogers. :D

I replaced the broken roller with a piece of flat nylon. It doesn't need to be a roller, a slide will work as well it has lasted for year so far. I posted this repair method on another site years ago .
