  1. It is not going to last.. Holden have just released a NEW Commodore.. a bigger and heavier car.. they rely on business buyers.. i.e. fleet buyers to support them and keep them afloat.. even then, the company needs huge handouts from the Government to keep from closing factories.. Dont be too jealous.. the build quality is possibly the same, if not WORSE than our beloved LR's.. the 5.7l V8's used more oil than petrol.. and they generally rattle more than a ward full of babies.. but HOLY carp.. can they destroy a set of rear tyres QUICKLY
  2. that would be a VZ commodore.. making it a 6 litre not 5... or if it is the first of the VZ it would be the Gen3 5.7 litre... Still heaps of fun though.. BUT THIRSTY
  3. I been running a setup very similar to Disco.. with Toy 3rds.. 4.5 ratio.. 27 - 30 spline axles and just the standard Longfield cv's.. in a lightened (read stripped out) 2dr Rangie.. on 35 ET's have not broken anything (yet) either.. The Longfield Chromo 4340/300M cv's are the strongest you can fit in a Rover axle.. and most probably the last most will ever buy.. Only concern would be longevity..as these were initially designed for Toyota's which are not permanent 4wd.. so I dont know how long they would last in daily driver scenario.. mine is not daily driver so I cant comment..
  4. I know some of the guys that work there and they asked around.. no one knows anything about these bars.. either they just dont make them anymore or they dont want to admit to ever making them oh.. Ritters is a LR shop in Melbourne
  5. yep, have friends with 4dr's.. some with b-pillar mounted belts and others with seat mounted.. I am aware of the strengthening required, and the reel on the floor.. What I am actually chasing is ideas on HOW to strengthen things up... I had thought of cutting the pillar and feeding some flat bar inside it with a bignut and washer welded on the end.. drilling a hole in the pillar and bolting the clip thingo in that way... But maybe I should just dig a little deeper in my pocket.. get a roll cage put in and attach some harnesses to it instead.. which is what I would be doing in a 6-12 months anyway.. Oh.. btw.. its going into this..
  6. hello from Aus.. Anyone on here moved the seatbelts on a 2dr onto the B-pillar.. My seats have had it and I have some nice Disco ones in the shed.. but no idea on how to move seatbelts short of drilling hole through B-pillar .. thanks
