  1. Can anyone confim whether or not steel wheels Part No. NTC 5193 (167JHZ x 33, I think that they may be from a Discovery) can be fitted to a 1997 Defender? If so what size tyre is required and is it necessary to fit wheel spacers? Gerald.
  2. Your Ifor Williams trailer is probably fitted with Knott brakes! Have a look at the following site for more information. http://www.knottuk.com/fileadmin/Knott-UK/...rvicemanual.pdf Gerald PS You can get a reversing stop which will prevent your brakes from operating when reversing!
  3. I had this problem with my overdrive. I removed the speed sensor and cleaned it and ensured that all electrical connections were tight which cured the problem. If you still have a problem, a 12 volt switched feed direct to the solenoid should enable you to bypass the electronics and engage and disengage the overdrive. Gerald
  4. Another Supplier. http://www.aluminiumwarehouse.co.uk/Alumin...Bar_Tread_Plate
  5. Instead of fitting a fuse, I fitted a 5 amp Auto Reset Circuit Breaker across the terminals of the isolator switch. If the ignition switch is turned to the start position whilst the isolator is open, you hear a continous clicking noise whilst the breaker trips and resets. The beauty of this arrangement is that you don't have to replace a blown fuse and the radio, alarm etc remain powered up even though the isolator is open. These breakers are about £1.30 each from Maplins Electronics. Gerald
  6. Try this site they supply the windows to Paddocks. http://www.caldwellswindows.co.uk/Landrovers.htm Gerald
  7. You may find that the insurance company will not allow you to buy your vehicle back! I had this problem with my insurance company when I rolled my 90, I had to drop my claim in order to keep it. Sadly if your vehicle has been recovered you may never see it again. Gerald
  8. I have a load of lenses and complete lamps also I think there is a convoy lamp or it may be a number plate lamp. Let me know if you are interested. The number plate lamp is still fitted on the trailer just above the offside triangle, the number plate would have been attached to the two brackets to the left of the light. HENNEGANOL
  9. Is it a 90? If so you may have dirt in the fuel tank, which because there is no filter between the tank and lift pump, debris can get under the valves. I had a similar problem and because the pump casing is crimped you have to destroy it in order to inspect the valves. In my case it proved to be an earwig which somehow got sucked into the pump! I have since fitted an inline filter before the lift pump which a cheaper option than a new pump. HG
  10. Recently I have noticed when towing with my 97 Defender 90, that the trailer indicator warning light flashes once suggesting that the trailer indicators are not working. However checking the trailer showed that the indicators were working. As I feel that this may be due to a faulty flasher unit I have tried to find it, whilst the circuit diagrams refer to the unit they do not tell you where it is located. Rather than have to remove the dash etc. to trace the cables back can anyone tell me where to find it? Best regards. Gerald
  11. Try this site http://www.towsure.com/category/6960-Cool_Box_Power. These are designed for cool boxes and at £10.50 are quite adequate. Gerald
