  1. Has anybody fitted a Wosp lms324 Heavy Duty starter motor to their 300 tdi , their about £240, draw less currant and more cranking, so the description says. They look much like a Td5 starter motor .
  2. Fitted a thermotop C from a Freelander 1, 2 years ago, only use a single battery and not wired in the blower fan, engine starts easy with no glow plugs required after about 20 mins. Then once in I turn the fan on full. I also use it to heat the engine up quicker, so if I jump in, from cold, start with glow plugs, then switch on the thermotop, switch off after about 4-5 miles and the temperature gauge is at normal and a warm cab.
  3. Had green EBC pads and disc's since they came out, there O.K, but felt they should be better. Last spring I changed to EBC Yellow front and rear on my 90. No regrets, this is how the Green should have been from the start. So far wear looks O.K. Gaz.
  4. Hi has anybody fitted the Tdci Heater matrix and blower housing to a RHD 300tdi / Td5 bulkhead, could it be do-able. Gaz.
  5. I fitted Cibie Light Unit - 7" Round Main/Dip with sidelights from Larkspeed, brighter than the crystals I had before, but with much more defined dip and main beam. These have glass front lens. Gaz.
  6. Hi Had issues with White smoke about a year back after coming back from Billing , tried a few things, but turned out to be a fuel injector or injectors, changed all 4 and it cured the problem. Gaz.
  7. Hi just finishing off rewiring my 1989 Ninety to 1999 spec, have used a combination of connectors from EasternBeaver in America for the Sumitomo connectors and Polevolt U.K for the Econoseal type connectors. Hope that Helps Gaz.
  8. Hi, yes my Ninety has a 300tdi engine, and i am fitting the spider for insurance purposes. I bought the Td5 bulkhead loom cheap just for the dash connectors, but the loom was in such good conditon that it ended up as a complete vehicle rewire, but as a result my LRSS alarm had to come out and i went in the direction of the ROW setup so its factory standard.
  9. Had the same problem, bought mine from LRdirect, they sent a black unit in a Britpart box which overread. They exchanged this for a Almakes which was green with VDO marked on the side, this worked as it should.
  10. Have been fitting a full Td5 wiring loom into my ninety, To finish off the Alarm side of things and make it the same as ROW 300tdi , I'm after the plug that fits into the spider unit AMR4889, I have altered the loom to take the extra cables but as yet unable to source the plug to finish off the wiring. Any help would be great. Gaz.
  11. Earths in general and check the Earth header on the bulkhead just behind the radiater expansion tank, or something common on the feed side like the ignition switch. Gaz
  12. SO = Slate Grey and Orange, OU = orange and light blue, U = light Blue. Gaz.
  13. FRONT-LH colour RG should start at fuse 35, FRONT-RH colour SO should start at fuse 34, this should then go to terminal 2 of the RH window switch. Terminal 1 is earth. The switch the feeds positive and earth one way for up and the reverse for down, cable colours OR which then goes to R and OU which goes to U. If there's no voltage either side of the fuse you could be looking for a fault at the fuse connections. Gaz.
  14. Thanks, I'd already run the loom the chassis and exited wheel side at the back, but the cables number plate side seemed tight so I wanted to be sure of the route, Running it on the outside of the chassis would give me more loom at the back so that might be the way to go. Thanks again.
  15. Hi, just fitting full Td5 wireing into 300tdi, that used to be a TD ninety, so had the old old wiring. Have already fitted the bulkhead loom and wing looms. What route does the chassis loom take, does it still go through the chassis and which side does exit at the back.Any photo's would be good. Gaz.
