  1. Ok so a friend has a 24V FFR s111 that wont start. Cant seem to get a spark but how can i test the feed from the coil when all the cables are shrouded in metal hose? Ideas please. Thanks TJ
  2. Buy the FFR winterizing kit on ebay and cut out the foil backed ruubber and spray glue that to the roof. makes for great insulation. Did this in the 130.
  3. Anyone done a P38 valve block change? What do i need to watch out for? Doing one on saturday.
  4. Found the 27291C RHD lamps here: http://www.agmpartscomponents.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1095
  5. I have used water wetter in my MGB and in the land Rovers when travelling and this has made a significant differnce to the overall temperature, even with a failing water pump in corsica the needle didnt go into the red on a fully loaded 130 climbing 4000 ft. I use the Redline stuff. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RED-LINE-WATER-WETTER-ENGINE-COOLANT-CONDITIONER-HELPS-CONTROL-OVERHEATING-355ml-/310806484973?_trksid=p2054897.l4276#ht_1467wt_932
  6. You need to bleed inner and outer together and best to pressurize the system when you do it.
  7. Dont get me wrong I get upset when I see another defender nicked, BUT.... Why are owners happy to spend £1500 on new wheels and tyres and not add locking wheel nuts for £40. Or fit a pedal lock to the vehicle like the X-Eng one or the Shire Fabrication one for a cheaper option. Or for £120 get a tracker fitted that alerts you and or the Police. I have immobilisers, trackers, and pedal locks on both trucks and wonderful LR door locks! Even if you cant be bothered to buy or fit once bought any of these at a minimum pull the lead off the injector pump. Or as someone else has stated on here many moons ago park a new car behind it. Rant over and keep you vehicles protected. TJ
  8. I used them for the 80 liter water tank on the 130 and they were superb, another friend got them to build a custome tank for his 90 with baffles and fittings all really good and excellant quality.
  9. Tek tanks are really good for making custom tanks. www.tek-tanks.com
  10. Mike Ross will be here tomorrow with his 05 110 td5 if that helps for prop lengths. TJ
  11. Mike Looks good if a little short. Will pop in over the next two weeks and inspect it fully! And WTF "normal(ish)" ??? Dont you mean not normal at all? TJ
  12. So as some of you will know I have been stripping down and now rebuilding my 130 for a 6 month trip to the USA. Looks like we should be there in the next 6 weeks or so. Truck coming along nicely but slowly as these things seem to be. We only have one hard date and thats the International Overland show in Flagstaff Arizona in the middle weekend of May. The trip hopefully we start in NY and head south along the eastern seaboard and turn inland at around Atlanta(disney visit planned, love getting drunk at disney in the Epcot area!) Then across to New Orleans Houstan and Dallas up to Denver and into Arizona and Utah. Then across to San Fran and back across the top. We will be posting on our website http://www.130adventures.com and also updates here. Photos can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/katynicolson Lots of fun soon! TJ
  13. Dont forget your wading plugs looks like its going to be very wet!! Hope the Range Rover is up for a bath!
  14. Military sites are difficult. There have been problems with other clubs not following the rules from Landmarc and also they are extremely expensive to run. So doubtful to be honest. Also several of the sites are being closed by the army.
  15. Shire have another Bunny Lane day this sunday why not come and play. £20 for the day. Membership available on the day or we accept membership cards from HBRO, SAD Camel Club and TV4x4. The site is situated just outside Romsey at Timsbury. Directions available from the Shire website. See you there TJ
  16. Fridge, did you want to fit a nice brake servo pedal? TJ
  17. oh and the 130 is too old for RAC and AA to bring home. They limit it to 15 years old. mine being a 1990 truck...........
  18. Yeah I would recommend ADAC. they brought the 130 home to my garage and flew Kate and I back all for the $85Euro cost of ADAC plus. Really really good. Best option is to fill out the form on the website (use google translate for the page) and then they will send you a form for your bank details as on line payment havent made it to Germany yet!!
  19. Rob, where in hampshire are you? I know someone in the Odiham area. TJ
  20. So there is the potential that we could take an extended amount of time off and trying to decide Road trip across the US (6-8 months) or Ship LR to SA and drive North? Thoughts?

    Billing

Had a great time at billing over the weekend. Many thanks to those who offered support and parts for my 130 after the stub axle and half shaft died. Good time on the X Eng stand thank you Si it was a laugh. Some of the many highlights : Watching Nige Barker erect a tent, it took an hour! Nige nearly setting fire to my 130, Nige pulling a full Tranny And finally Nige getting a ball of string stuck on his finger!!
  22. Looking for part numbers for the military bonnet catches for use on my defender. Thanks TJ
