  1. Gutted mate. I'm located in kford and mine was nicked around 5 years ago. Last seen headin too/around Batmans hill in Tipton. Which as you probably know full of people who live in nicked caravans or used to anyway. Hopefully the police will find the scumbags. All the best. Luke
  2. I got some for my disco, good kit but takes a while. Suppose they are made to order, was quoted 4-5 weeks was more like 8-10. But again they are good bits of kit and good prices too!
  3. Yeah I meant in comparison to the tdi engines. Should have said that really! ? I also had no issues starting in temps down to -10 after 40-90 secs of glows. It's one of those Land Rover foibles that you become used to after owning the vehicle. Part of the personality I guess!
  4. On my old 19j engine I used to give a slow count to 10 so more so 15 seconds on a autumn day. In winter i just held it on for a good while. Never had any issues, not the easiest engines to start in the winter though.
  5. This is what was up with mine. After taking the dash to pieces and find SFA, and a few non starts on a tesco car park I was ready to torch the motor! Found the alarm ecu on eBay for the same frequency and replaced it and it's been fine ever since!
  6. Is it a one button alarm or two button?
  7. Hi all, I'm looking at some ideas for making the blank spaces on my 300 tdi dash more useable. Any ideas that anybody has already had and done. I'm thinking about putting a USB port into the dash to charge my phone and also a discreet aux in to do away with the annoying wire around the gear stick! Also how good are the dash repair kits? Mine is being held down by around 15-25 wood screws with plastic covers. Tatty is not the word! Any ideas guys? cheers, Luke
  8. Mine as bought in Sep 2007 Mid restoration in sep 2008 After restoration in early Oct 2008

  12. Now i know it sounds daft but.... can you put a safari snorkal on a 2.5 TD (19J) engine?? As i really dont care much for the mushroom jobbys. Or is there a alternative to the mushroom jobbys which are similar to that off the safari??

  16. good evening chaps I am currently doing up my 90 and have found some severe rot in the rear axle, And so i have been contemplating swapping for a axle of a discovery. But would this work?? would the ratio in the diff be diffrent to that of the transfer box?? has anybody done this or swapped for a diffrent rear axle?? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Luke
  17. Mine isnt that noisy considerin its a 2.5 TD lol, but i got some sound proof matting at a show cant remba what make it was but its good stuff, just gotta do the back now and then it should rival a rolls royce for quietness!!! :-P
  18. Yup i have 205s on at the moment and on the speedo at 65 on the gps it says 57 haha. Ah well im treating the old girl to a revamp next week and got some cheap freestyle alloys with 235 bf A/Ts on so thatll make the speedo more realistic.
  19. i have dealt with craddocks a few times and unless you get the fat bald one with the glasses you should be alrite hes a bit slow lol, bought many things from there and havent been that bad. I spent 250 quid on a britpart 2 inch lift kit , roofrack and many other odds and sods and never had a problem with them. Now ive started using tinterweb to get stuff simply because a lot of places are cheaper because i live in dudley craddocks is in cannock which is a good hour and a bit drive via m54 and the like with diesel the way it is at the moment! Only problem that ive ever had with craddocks is the extornate amount of money it is for stupid little things, for example a NAS spec brake light assembly 10 quid doesnt even include the bulb!!! For those of us in the midlands there is a place that is meant to rival craddocks in bilston behind the big morrisons dont know what its like as ive never been there!
  20. sad times but why were they on there own?? in such a treachrous time with all the rainfall and what not, correct me if im wrong, but you travel in groups in case something like that happens???
  21. Isnt easy start reknown as Heroin for engines??
  22. where would one get some of this gunk?? just had a lot of work done to my engine and its all covered in dirty oil and is starting to smell when up to temp bad times!!
  23. i bought a bearmach one for 125 quid from craddocks thinking itd fit my 90. Unbeknowest to me bearmach seem to have a thing against NAS lights! so it remains in the shed untill i get around to messing around with it to make it fit. If i had know that when i bought it i would have got the mantec one haha.
