  1. Why not just fit a bit of heat resitant flexible tubing to connect the two up? i presume you mean from the air filter in take to the wing intake is the bit missing?

This is correct. Come to think of it I told someone the other day the top was heater when they asked me, don't know why I asked that.

    So the size is 2.5"?

Thats probably what I'll do then as the offcial hoses seem to be way over priced.

    EDIT: Cheers for that western.

  2. I'm missing some hoses in my engine bay. I believe its the one that goes from the air intake to the side where a snorkle would normally be placed. When looking for these hoses I only find really expensive ones (£80) which I'm sure is way more than its worth.

Also I know there in an air intake on the left wing, is this for cooling purposes as I might get a scoop to improve air intake there.

    Cheers

  3. I drive a 1991 Red Defender so I always wave an usually get waves back. My girlfriend now waves franticly as other defenders pass too. I also have to admit to driving round Morrisons car park looking for another defender to park next to, there are a fair few round here so I usually get lucky.

My Dad now owns a Disco 3 but hes had Land Rovers (of the Discovery type) for many years so understands the need to wave at other Landy divers. The Defenders usually seem to be quite surprised to find themselves having a Disco 3 waving at them. I never personally like the Disco 3 until I drove one, then I could understand why they're popular. Its just a shame they go to too many of the non-Landy folk now. I'd still prefer a Defender anyday though. So much road presence...

  4. Hello eveybody,

I've had my Defender 90 200TDi (1991) for about a year now and whenever the powersteering has to work hard it squeels. Now I'm assuming this is the pressure release valve for the powersteering as it occurs on full lock or steering while moving very slowly (often reversing) on high friction terrain.

I was wondering if there was a way to silence this or if it was infact a problem?
