Good news , pull the pump out and see what the filter on the bottom of the pick up is like , chances are your pump has failed .

Tend to disagree there , Iv had a discovery and also my own defender would not fire with a faulty fuel pump . pressure was to low .new pump and fix

I would check your getting minimum 4 bar fuel pressure at the regulator , Iv had pump that sound ok , and supply fuel but no where near the fuel pressure required . Generally I believe if the crank sensor is at fault / perm fault the engine light will come on .

Does anyone know if a d2 abs modulator work on the td5 defenders , they seem to look very similar and people on eBay are listing them as disco / defender ?

That’s great . At least I know what I’m looking for now . Il have a look if they sell that bush piece seperate I can’t see it being that difficult to retro fit the last bits I check my new rear discs and they allow for the ring to be bolted to . just need to find the rings / an ecu and probably abs pump as I can’t find the one i had 🙈 Chris

thanks buddy, how do the rear sensors mount to the rear stubs ? bolted on a bracket or just pushed through, stubs are only £25 so not all bad, the reluctor rings seem very expensive unless i can find used ones.

Thanks for the quick reply, I have a valve block modulator from a d2 and i believe i have the defender on to. i will have to double check and see what my discs allow to bolt on, am i right in thinking the abs ring on the front is mounted to the cv ?

Hi Guys, i have tried searching this topic but struggling. Now i have just bought an XS loom for my 2002 defender, Full spec , A/C and ABS currently my axles are non abs td5 axles. Can anybody help with what i need to do to make ABS a thing on this truck. I have the following parts to hand which i hope may help or not. 1) xs loom with abs 2) Defender brake servo / master cylinder brake pedal from a 110 with abs. 3)Puma 90 axles but non abs type. Now I know i will have to buy wheel sensors. but can these be retro fitted into the axles I already have ? There's a separate ABS module somewhere on the truck ? I have seen the rear reluctor ring bolts to the back of the rear discs, is it a case of reaming my stub shaft to accept the sensor to come through the back plate ? I'm not sure how the sensors actually fix in the back there. and fronts i have seen they go through the top king pin i think but not 100% sure. If anyone can share some wisdom on this topic I will be very grateful. Thanks guys :)

My replacement loom , came without a flasher relay. My truck won't be towing . Will I need a 4 pin flasher unit Or 3 pin flasher unit ?

Td5 10p engine. Has anyone got the correct diagram for coolant flow around the engine. I have put an aftermarket heater box, and heater valve on the truck so need to make sure I attach the right hose to the right outlet . Thanks in advance

Not sure on the sender . For my application one that's 180mm tall. And a normal 52mm gauge I believe Measure depth of tank , take half and inch , if not inch , off that measurement that's the length sender you want

My trucks going to be running td5 . Running a td5 gauge .at present My Ali tank doesn't have a sender in to it , I won't be running a td5 sender and pump. Hoping to fit a vdo floatless style sender in to it . So need to see if a vdo gauge is needed also

can anyone tell me the following. Td5 90 . fuel sender unit m what range does it work between in ohms . what reading in ohms should I expect to see when the tank is full and when it's empty.

td5 engine mounts. is the little metal dust shield cover actually needed ? theone that sit on top of the rubber mounting ? mine is have 1 missing and the other bent up

I'm confusing myself now, td5 ecu I have a early td5 ecu for my conversion . Now from what I read these arnt remappable via flashing. I keep reading posts what I need to get to be able to remap the truck . But I keep confusing myself . What part number ecus will work with a 10p td5 in a defender ? Thanks in advance
