  1. It came apart in a rather noisy and vibrating way and I must say it made for an interesting evening.. Quite a bit of oil came out, with quite a bit of debris, when drained to remove the diff. However, I'm not sure about the axle breathers doing what they should do over the decades so i'll take this moment to fit these : On the OneTen they work fine...
  2. Very interested in this as I have an H14 waiting for collection in Devon to go onto the OneTen. Please, keep your ideas coming..
  3. "Details please Arjan I know nothing about that engine " Sure...... 4 cyl., 3.500 cc., diesel, N/A, turbo / intercooled about 130-150 bph and about 260 lb/ft. almost over the whole rev range.. Had several in both in a Soft Dash, a 110 CSW (with a ZF) and love them. Gear driven timing, etc. Will be fitting one, with an LT85, in a 110 HT when I find time.... If you want to know more, give a shout. Engine is in France but I can take it to Holland / Belgium if some relay is needed....
  4. Nice !! " If I do go Diesel I would want something I can fit to the LT95 " Well, I have a nice Mazda 3500 SLTI here that will accept a LT95....... 😁
  5. Looking very nice ! Have a look at my post about a number - it shows how diffs after 50-60 years sometimes go wrong... Nigel could rebuild the axle for you no doubt
  6. This is just for entertainment purposes (.....) I removed the rear diff of the Hybrid last night as it stopped working in a rather spectacular way while towing a trailer... It seems some bolts worked loose... Hope to replace the diff tonight for another one.....
  7. Very interesting read - thank you. Apart from the obvious costs to convert a ICE to Electric, we face in France the legal problem. At the moment it is next to impossible to get a DIY conversion on the road legally. A few companies have a monopoly it seems to do the conversion and the price tag equals that of a new Defender...
  8. Welkom to the MadHouse Matt. Love to see some pice ! Grown Ups will come by but basically anything is possible - wallet permitting of course. A diff that has wear after 55 years + is to be expected. I just replaced the Rover diff behind the 200 Tdi with another Rover one. Anything eventually gives up. We have some serious diff rebuilders here so let's see what they have to say.
  9. Makes sense. Standard Lightweights are not common anymore - most have been modded...
  10. Thank You. So there is no way to "date" either the differential or the diff itself...
  11. Well Done ! Awesome job you guys are doing. Thanks !!
  12. Rear Diff gave up so I need to replace it. Found a front axle - nothing is known about it. This is the diff : Looks in good usuable condition ? Do these numbers tell us anything ? Thank you.
  13. May I suggest you ask the Maer importer in your country...
  14. The Maer HD Axle casing is just that : extremely heavy duty. When I was over there to collect my chassis I had a very good look at them as I seriously consider getting one for the OneTen. Designed and used in big numbers underground in mines in an environment that could be described as extremely hostile.. According to Maer, it is designed and build to take standard LR parts (bearing, seals etc.) and a Rover Diff.. It is my understanding these casings accept a standard LR propshaft but I suggest you ask to the importer in your country. Also, be careful lifting them as they are.... heavy
  15. I really hope so - but it seems the dates for everybody just don't match.....
  16. Looks VERY tidy ! Hope it stays that way...
