  1. Good Progress - on the road, not too difficult MOT issues.... Hmm. the corrosion however.....
  2. Happy to see the cat inspects the trailer ! ...ours are always all over the LR's & trailers..... We have never been lucky with steeringboxes and seal kits. Looking very, very nice !
  3. We have steel Disco I rims and they clear the Zeus callipers. I "think" standard Defender ones do, too.. Try first though.. The Wolf ones will fit.
  4. We have looked Pioneer with the movable screen and found that you can "learn" them to what position they need to go for your specific dashboard. But I have to say I was not impressed with the sturdieness (??) of the various units. The 110 is now running on an iPad for navigation and it works well. There are some options for the CD / Radio to make them "talk" to the iPad / Androids if you want. Although I've always had Garmin, I am getting less and less impressed with the bigger screen units to work with and running things like Xmotion on the iPad are really nice once you get used to it. I have destroyed too many CD players over the years to use them. In the Hybrid I have a Kenwood MiniDisk player but that is going to be replaced aswell - getting old...
  5. Good Evening, Anything from 150 ukp. upwards will get you something. But you'd have to ask yourself what it is you want ? Cheap is often expensive and a lot of #$%% Buy warranted quality and enjoy. Also, is the gearbox is your Series in good condition ?
  6. Welcome. Not sure what it is really you want to achieve here....
  7. Have fun with the project - is going to be interesting ! However, please consider the forces when you're doing 60 Mph. and meet a nice mocing apartmentblock called HGV that comes the other way doing 70... You could find yourself at the receiving end of 120-130MPH blows and that is a lot of forces..
  8. It ain't easy, is it.... Al those Lbs & kgs...... Interesting idea - but will it actually materialize ?
  9. Don't get me started on cats and their preference for warm bonnets...... Speaking - but even more so in writing - in a non native languages is hard at times. ...esp. when you do it all day in 4 different ones.... But.. we try.
  10. Nice ! No problems with the winchrope for the licence plate ?
  11. Big Lorry ? Looking a good project. ...and love the workshop
  12. This is sooo much why I'm no longer into RRC's... Good Work !!
  13. Nice ! Pity you live too far away for a quick coffee...
  14. Yes.... It is us bl..dy foreigners taking away lots of things.... Don't get me started on the Franch who buy all the nice Renault 4 & 2CV's in Holland....
  15. This is how it works with true LR people.. I have been helped many times in the deep dark night on the side of the road and try to give it back, too.. Well done guys !
  16. " Sorry Arjan I just love that series look.... " Nothing to be sorry for ! I like the Series front, too, but for the moment this works better for me.
  17. Interesting Project Daan !!!!! Looking forward to the various solutions you'll have to find - like welding the chassis together ? Goed Gedaan !!
  18. Having had about everything on various roof to transport, I suggest you get a board up there and make a few test drives. Apart from not seeing overhang trafficlights - and that could lead esp. abraod to interesting talks with people in uniforms - you could find having that serious sun visor creates unpleasant forces. If you want to sleep upstairs, you could consider a hard shell type solution You could make a very nice one in the size of the 90 roof. The one in the picture is our old Hard Shell that has been everywhere and uses 3 FF roof bars on a 90 for a good fit. On the 110 it sits in the Bronwchurch. Making you own is not to difficult. Bon Courage !
  19. Hmm...... Books have been written on this and many are to follow. I like to think that Land Rover may have put some thought in what they're doing and I like to stick to some simple and basic guide lines from them - many can be found in "Winching in Safety" (LR Part # SMR 699 MI) Obviously - Copyright to Land Rover Ltd.
  20. Go for a branded quality one if you really want one. I stay away from them as I've seen a few very nasty accidents with them when the attachment points are not as good as they were beleived to be.. IF you use them, use a safety bridlle to keep things from flying too far...
  21. Yes - the winch above the bumper is creating some serious leverage forces... With the 200 Tdi there came a "Stage IV" nose and this gave me a good reason to fir a different winchbumper, between the chassis rails and additional fitting points to the chassis. Getting a lot of flak for the flat front though....
  22. Give Peter Lamb (FirstFour) a call - he knows his winches..
